Sonny Corinthos is back! Are the days of “SMike” over? Sonny Corinthos’s mob life resulted in an identity crisis. After suffering amnesia, entrapment, deception, and false reality, Sonny as we knew him was gone.

General Hospital recaps recall Sonny’s devastating transformation two years ago. His amnesia gave Nina the prime opportunity to make her move. Ad a result, she took advantage of his vulnerability. After that, choices made about Sonny’s own life were made by the man he became after Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) knowingly kept him from his wife and children.

General Hospital rumors indicate that it’s time “Mike” exits stage left and Sonny Corinthos steps back into the life he was meant to live.

In a recent Twitter conversation, General Hospital’s leading man gave insight on whats ahead for Sonny Corinthos. A fan tweeted about Sonny returning as himself after being trapped inside of “Mike.” That said, GH rumors speculate that the upcoming mob drama will bring out what we’ve all been missing- the TRUE Sonny Corinthos!The Emmy winner warned fans to, “hold onto your horses,” when it comes to seeing Sonny again. He added, “you will see him slowly, but surely.”

General Hospital Spoilers: BIG REVEAL! Maurice Promises “Badass Sonny” Is Back And “Gets The Girl In The End”

The storyline around Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and his life as a mob boss in Port Charles, NY, has been one of the main focal points of General Hospital for decades.

Today, Sonny Corinthos and his portrayer Maurice Benard have become the core of the daytime drama, some arguing more-so than even the story lines involving the Hospital itself.

We will soon be seeing “Badass Sonny” but not before things begin with a “sprinkle of Mike.” Benard then goes on to promise that “he [Sonny] gets the girl in the end.”

SoNa fans are taking this as a hint Sonny will end up with Nina, while CarSon fans take Maurice’s “he gets the girl in the end,” statement refers to the love of his life, Carly.

Some GH fans believe Maurice hinted that Sonny will eventually come around despite his discouraging behavior toward his son Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell). In a tweet from a fan, the fan expressed their concern for Sonny’s irrational behavior, praising Michael for his reasonable logic, and calling the “Sonny” character “weak.” The GH spoiler lies in Benard’s reply when he commented, “It’s not how you start it’s how you finish.”

GH’s Maurice and Ingo offend Nancy Lee Grahn. General Hospital star Maurice Benard is a fan favorite. He’s famously known and loved for portraying family-oriented mobster, Sonny Corinthos. The Emmy winning actor is also for his kind heart, his dedication to community outreach, raising mental health awareness, his sense of humor, and much more.

General Hospital news reports reveal Maurice’s recent Instagram video with co-star Ingo Rademacher caused backlash from fans. Benard and Rademacher’s dialogue was taken out of context and misconstrued. On screen, Sonny and Jax other than their devotion to Carly, may be polar opposites and even enemies, however, in real life they are very close friends. The two daytime tv icons (along with an earlier appearance by Kin Shriner, aka Scotty Baldwin), were part of a video posted to IG. The video featured Maurice and Ingo’s silly banter. Maurice Benard Celebrates 22 Years

SonnyToday marks the day that Maurice Benard debuted as Port Charles mobster, Sonny Corinthos. On August 13th, 1993, Sonny arrived in Port Charles. He quickly made a name for himself around town, and quite the reputation. General Hospital Blog would like to congratulate Maurice on his 22 year run as one of the most well known television names. Maurice tells fans that he only wanted to sigh a 6 month contract… well we all know how that turned out. 22 years later, we still race to our television sets every Monday though Friday, waiting to see the Port Charles kingpin.

Maurice, General Hospital just wouldn’t be the same without you! Thank you for your talents, and for everything you do to keep fans coming back for more.

Our Favorite Mobster, Sonny Corinthos; Maurice Benard Sticking Around General Hospital

On September 23, General Hospital Blog reported that actor Maurice Benard who has played Port Charles top dog when it comes to the mob- and women, Sonny Corinthos, since 1993, may be leaving General Hospital to pursue other opportunities. According to Soaps in Depth magazine, it was noted that Benard had not yet signed a contract with ABC’s General Hospital to renew his current status with the show.

However, in a brief conversation with fans, Maurice had a different tune in regard to his plans for his future at General Hospital.

Sonny Corinthos fans can sleep easier tonight, knowing that the talented actor will be staying at General Hospital, a place that he calls, “home.” Benard will manage to stay at GH while expanding his horizons and working on other projects. His most recent project, The Ghost and the Whale, will be available for pre-order very soon.
