Monica Quartermaine’s (Leslie Charleson) death has shaken an entire city. Port Charles will never be the same without General Hospital’s top Cardiologist, former Chief of Staff, and head of the household at the Quartermaine mansion. Family and friends gather to honor a legend, and Tracy says goodbye to Monica.
So far, Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) and Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) have carried most of the heavy emotions that come with losing someone they love. It’s no doubt that Monica was important to so many- but to Tracy and Jason, their connection to Monica was something extra special. Everyone’s eulogies were delivered with truth, heart, and honor for not only Monica Quartermaine, but for Leslie Charleson as well.
Coming up on General Hospital, Monica’s loved ones move forward after the memorial service. Life goes on as they say, but not before saying a proper goodbye. And that’s exactly what Port Charles gets from Tracy Quartermaine to the beloved Monica Quartermaine.
What began with ambivalence transformed into quite an honorary speech for Tracy’s dearly beloved sister in law, Monica. Tracy’s heartfelt speech for Monica was as genuine as Jane’s feelings for Leslie Charleson. Elliot and Charleson were true friends behind the GH set, and walked through life together since meeting in 1965.
Reportedly, GH iconic Jane Elliot opened up about losing Leslie, and mourning her friend twice. She told Variety, “It was very, very difficult to play her alive when she had already passed in real life. It extended the mourning because we had to keep her alive when she wasn’t. I had to mourn her death twice,” Elliot disclosed.
The love in the room is undeniable as GH celebrates Leslie Charleson.
