Earlier this month, General Hospital star Steve Burton revealed his upcoming General Hospital exit. In his interview with Emmy winning actress, Kelly Thiebaud, GH’s leading man, Maurice Bernard, described Steve’s exit as abrupt.
Kelly Thiebaud Reacts To Steve’s GH Exit
During the interview, Kelly Thiebaud opened up about Steve’s exit. She admitted that she was shocked, let down, and sad over his choice to leave General Hospital. Thiebaud told Benard that she confronted Steve about his departure, and while she understands, it’s still been “really hard,” and she thought they’d have more time together.
In a separate interview with Steve and Bradford, Kelly revealed that she was also devastated in 2021 when Steve was let go due to the vaccination mandate. She explained that she had just signed a three year contract and told TPTB that she only wanted to do a Jason and Britt storyline. Her request was granted , but circumstances took Steve off the canvas, leaving Thiebaud high and dry.
Ultimately, Steve’s 2024 General Hospital return, along with Kelly’s 2024 return gave Jason and Britt a second chance at romance. But sadly, Steve Burton’s upcoming exit has put a wrench in that plan.
According to General Hospital news reports, Steve confirmed that his GH exit is temporary. However, GH fans caught a different vibe from Kelly and Maurice’s conversation on State Of Mind. At this time, Burton confirms that he and Jason will return to General Hospital this Summer.
