ABC’s General Hospital Names New Doctor After Tristan Rogers!
General Hospital comings and goings confirm that a new doctor has checked in and is reporting for duty. Reportedly, South-African singer-songwriter, Dean Geyer joined the cast of General Hospital, and made his debut on 7-13-26.
According to GH recaps, Nurse Elizabeth got to chat with the hospital’s newest cardiologist. Just before Tracy showed up, the new doc introduced himself as Tristan. Dr. Tristan Roberts.
Monday, July 13th, 2026 marked General Hospital’s 16,000th episode. Hints to this phenomenal achievement were spread out throught Monday’s episode. Then on Tuesday, July 14th, GH fans got a bit of a surprise.

Tristan’s role as Robert Scorpio helped shape American culture as he became one of the most recognizable names in daytime television. Over the years, Tristan spent 45 years tied to General Hospital, and the name “Robert Scorpio.” Ultimately, his last GH air date was on July 18th, 2025. Sadly, Roger’s passed away on August 15th, 2025.
It was a beautiful nod to the late icon and legend. Rogers is one of the most well known actors in daytime television, and has touched the hearts of many. GH has made sure he won’t be forgotten by keeping his memory alive with the “sounds like” newcomer, Dr. Tristan Roberts.
