General Hospital: Kirsten Storms after brain aneurysm procedure

General Hospital and Disney star was treated for a second brain health crisis. First, Storms revealed that she had brain surgery in 2021, after her Doctors discovered a “very large cyst.” Storms was in surgery within 48 hours. Now, the beloved Maxie Jones actress discloses her most recent diagnosis and treatment.

Back in July, Storms announced she’d be taking some time away from General Hospital. Naturally, fan reactions flooded social media. Many comments revealed concerns over whether or not she’d actually return to the daytime drama. But Kirsten assured GH fans that she WILL return , estimating that she’d be back sometime in December. Storms and her daughter Harper moved to Tennessee, and she needs time to get settled.

However, General Hospital’s Kirsten Storms has made another major announcement regarding her health via social media. Four years after unexpectedly undergoing brain surgery, the 18 year GH vet and fan favorite revealed that she was recently treated for a brain aneurysm. Routine checkups after having a “very large cyst” removed in 2021, Kirsten’s doctors discovered the aneurysm on a brain scan.

According to her Instagram, Storms was diagnosed in January of 2025, was treated, and is following protocols for her recovery. She took to Instagram to reveal information on the procedure itself. Kirsten also explains how this health crisis played a role in her move to Tennessee, and credits her best friend, Emme Rylan forbbein by her side through it all.
