It’s been just over a year since Gio Mazza joined the cast of General Hospital. On May 15th, 2024 Mazza made his debut as Gio Palmieri. He was introduced as Brook Lynn’s cousin from Bensonhurst and stunned the wedding guests with his exemplary violin playing. A prodigy no doubt, cousin Gio from the old neighborhood would soon become a focal point of many people’s lives. Thanks to Lulu Spencer (Alexa Havins), this traumatic revelation will haunt Gio’s perception of The Nurse’s Ball forever. More importantly, he only knows half of the truth after overhearing Lulu confronting Lois (Rena Sofer). Furthermore, his reaction to what he heard was nothing short of heartbreaking- even gut wrenching. He wore his heart on his sleeve, on stage for all to see.

Hopefully General Hospital fans have had some time to decompress after having watched Gio’s intense reaction. Reportedly, the actor did some reflecting of his own on what his character just endured. Gio Mazza shared his thoughts via Instagram- making mention of his birthday. Mazza acknowledged the significance of that episode having aired on his actual birthday!

According to Mazza, there’s a lot to look forward to with his character Gio Palmieri. It looks like he’ll be sticking around Port Charles for a while!
