Anytime I speak with a stranger about my favorite Soap Opera, regardless of whether someone watches General Hospital or not, the name that rings everyone’s bell is Sonny Corinthos. And when you know about Sonny, you know about the man behind the iconic role, Maurice Benard.

General Hospital news reports from late March reveal Benard’s contract had ended in 2022. Rewind a few months back to October of 2021, a Twitter question sparked a very honest and to the point reply regarding Maurice Benard’s thoughts on retiring from General Hospital.

General Hospital spoilers reveal, a Twitter user enlightened Benard about the various gossip going down in online forums and chats. The fan mentioned that one of the comments that, “hit hardest,” was a rumor about Benard retiring, and hanging up his role as Sonny Corinthos. Maurice’s answer left fans a little unsettled after learning his thoughts on the topic. The State of Mind host admitted, “I think about retiring all the time, but I always honor my contract.” He went on to say that “General Hospital is my second family, I’m having a great time right now.”

Fast forward a few seasons and General Hospital news reports can confirm that Maurice isn’t going anywhere from GH anytime soon.

General Hospital star Maurice Benard has reached out to fans to inform his audience that there will not be a new dispose of his YouTube series, State if Mind, this coming Sunday as per usual.

General Hospital news reports confirm Benard has issued a statement regarding a recent change in this mental health based talk show.

General Hospital spoilers reveal Maurice will be hosting a YouTube Live event on Sunday, April 24th between 10:30-11AM PST. During this live event, Benard will explain how State of Mind will look differently going forward. He goes in to thank his wife, Paula, among others for their support and contributions.

Robert Gossett joined the cast of General Hospital on October 18th, 2021. He took on the role of Curtis Ashford’s (Donnell Turner) father, Marshall Ashford, as the two men work through their troubled relationship.

Marshall as been hiding the truth about his past and the reason he abandoned Curtis and the rest of his family all those years ago. Curtis is having a hard time trusting his father, which lead Curtis to deceive his dad with the help of Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison).
