From time to time, the characters we’ve grown to love (or love to hate) leave. Some return after some time, and others arrive on the canvas unexpectedly. As GH fans, General Hospital Blog knows exactly how it feels to lose a beloved character, as well as how it feels to love (or hate) a newby. Whatever emotions are flowing through at the time someone leaves or enters the canvas, fans can be sure to get the latest information on our GH comings and goings page.
Brick is back! General Hospital comings and goings reports reveal that Stephen A. Smith returns this week. Brick issues a warning. He’s back in Port Charles, and his advice should be taken seriously.
General Hospital spoilers for the week of January 26, 2026 reveal that a blizzard blasts Port Charles. Extreme weather conditions prevent travel, and force the people of Port Charles to stay put- no matter where they are, or whom they’re with. it doesn’t matter if you love them hate them or if they’re complete strangers.
Brick is back and issues a warning. General Hospital previews indicate that Brick stresses the point that no one is to be trusted. The threat is real, and when the blizzard blasts Port Charles, some become more vulnerable. At a time where reality is distorted, inclement weather has catastrophic consequences, secret medical breakthrough is used as leverage, no one knows who they can trust.
General Hospital: Kirsten Storms Returns to General Hospital as Maxie Jones
General Hospital fan favorite, Kristen Storms announced her GH departure in late Summer of 2025. She was last seen onscreen as Maxie Jones in August. Reportedly, Storms took a break from her GH role while she moved to Tennessee, and got settled in with her daughter, Harper Rose Barash. Six months later, Kirsten Storms returns to General Hospital as Maxie Jones.
Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) is very much loved around Port Charles. Her family and friends are doing what they can to ensure that Maxie’s children are well cared for and loved as they wait out their mom’s medical crisis. After what seemed like a fluke incident, Maxie fell ill while on set of Home an Heart. Since then, she’s been in a coma just like her bestie Lulu Spencer (Alexa Havins)! We all know that Maxie’s condition is no fluke… but the inner workings of Sidwell’s calculated stratagem.
Maxie’s husband Nathan West (Ryan Paevey) is back from dead- and so is her ex-fiancé, and Nathan’s brother, Peter August (Wes Ramsey). Their sister Britt Westbourne mysteriously returned from the dead as well. Coincidence? I think not.
Since Sidwell is connected to Faison’s final project, and he targeted Maxie, and Maxie has a child with both Nathan and Peter… then it’s safe to say that Sidwell finds Maxie’s connection to Faison’s son’s a big problem.
According to a recent Instagram post, Kirsten is back on set, filming scenes. She took a snapshot selfie in her dressing room mirror with a caption that revealed her GH status. Kirsten Storms returns to General Hospital after a six month break, and there’s so much in store for Maxie!
General Hospital: Will Kelly Monaco return to General Hospital?
Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) and Drew Cain’s (Cameron Mathison) daughter Scout hasn’t had it easy since her mother died. Sam McCall’s death was as shocking to Port Charles as Kelly Monaco’s GH exit was to the fans.
Real life drama surrounded Monaco’s exit. Kelly Monaco’s fans and supporters formed social media groups, and petitions were signed as General Hospital fans protested Kelly Monaco’s firing in 2024. The twenty one year GH fan-favorite spoke out on the situation, giving fans a tiny hint that unfair practices may have played a role in Monaco’s shocking GH exit.
Recently, talk of Kelly Monaco’s potential return has gained even more traction. The GH rumors are seemingly more like more like news and a major spoiler as more characters fro Sam’s name. Currently, he storyline surrounding Drew Alexis Willow and Danny set the stage nicely for Sam to return- for Scout and Danny.
Both of Sam’s kids need their mother more than ever right now. GH fans hold out hope that Kelly Monaco returns to General Hospital. Don’t you think it’s the perfect time for Sam to return?
General Hospital: Is Cameron Mathison Leaving General Hospital?
All of the ups and downs and twists and turns of Drew and Willow’s relationship has GH fans questioning what’s next. Now that Willow is a little psycho bride, she has Drew right where she wants him. Is Cameron Mathison leaving General Hospital after Willow stuck him with a syringe, and caused him to suffer a debilitating stroke?
Many are torn on how the feel about what’s happened to Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison). For the past two years or so, Drew has been one of the most hated characters, and one of the most despised Port Charles residents by rest of the city. As a Congressman, Drew is a public figure. Back when he was elected he had his family’s support, and the Quartermaine family was proud to back him. But things have taken quite a different turn since then. And none of the changes have been good. Despite his nasty demeanor, mixed feelings surfaced about whether or not anyone really cares if he lives or dies. Drew may be a real a-hole, but what Willow has done is undoubtedly disturbing.
Is Cameron Mathison Leaving GeneralHospital?
Congressman Cain’s medical condition has GH fans wondering about Cameron Mathison’s status with the Soap. According to the latest GH comings and goings reports, Google search results produce contradictory information. Despite the AI Overview section that states Mathison is leaving General Hospital, that’s not the case. Actually, no sources confirm Mathison’s GH exit. However, Soap Opera Digest confirms that there are no plans for GH to send Mathison packing. Drew Cain doesn’t die, and he isn’t going anywhere in the near future.
General Hospital: Willow receives an update on Drew
General Hospital recaps for 1-21-26 recall that Mrs. Willow Cain (Katelyn MacMullen) came rushing in through the elevator doors at GH. She was frantic about her husband, Congressman Drew Cain, as he suffers a medical emergency. Nurse Elizabeth Webber Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst) and Dr. Jones were part of the medical team on staff when Drew was brought in, and Willow explained her version of what happened to Elizabeth. She plays it off as though she’d be devastated if Lucas (Van Hansis) relays tragic news about Drew.
As she hugged Elizabeth, Willow told her she hopes that she got him (Drew) help in enough time. At this point her intentions for Drew are unclear. Did she try to kill him? Or did she purposely leave his life hanging by a thread? According to General Hospital rumors, Willow’s intentions are far more sinister than wanting him dead.
General Hospital spoilers for 1-22-26 reveal that Dr. Jones delivers an update on Drew’s (Cameron Mathison) condition. Sadly, Lucas relays tragic news about the Congressman.
Apparently, Tracy (Jane Elliot) might be right. GH rumors tease that Drew could be in a vegetative state. But the worse part is that he may be fully conscious, but unable to move or speak. And he just might know exactly what Willow is doing.
Does Willow torture Drew by leaving him conscious and aware, but unable to move or speak?
General Hospital: Did Willow (Katelyn MacMullen) just kill Drew (Cameron Mathison)?
Who Shot Drew Cain (with a gun)? is now, Who Shot Drew Cain (as in administered a shot via syringe)? Or maybe whatever Willow stuck Drew with in the neck is completely undetectable. Will the skilled docs at good old GH call it a heart attack? If he survives, he definitely knows it was Willow who did this to him. Then what? So, is Drew Cain really dead?
“If at first you don’t succeed, dust yourself off and try again .” -Aaliyah. Willow Tait Corinthos Cain couldn’t pull off murdering her husband Drew Cain the first go around. So right after she was acquitted for Drew’s attempted murder, she performs a sneak attack and goes for try number two!
At this time, there are no General Hospital comings and goings reports that include or confirm Cameron Mathison’s General Hospital status. Coming up on General Hospital, previews show Tracy talking about karma catching up with Drew . According to GH previews for 1-20-26, Tracy is talking to Nina at the hospital. Apparently, Drew isn’t dead on arrival. Perhaps he’s hanging on for dear life. What will Willow do then?
Another one bites the dust. Will Nina go for yet another one of Carly’s men? Soon, Carly and Jack will be over, and the mysterious and handsome WSB Agent will be on the market.
Would anyone be surprised if Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) had her sights set on WSB Agent, Jack Brennan (Chris L. McKenna)? It’s not like she hasn’t has Carly Spencer’s (Laura Wright) leftovers in the past.
Carly’s nemesis has managed to wiggle her way into the arms of Carly’s men, post discard. Except for Sonny. Nina stole him from Carly when both Sonny and Carly were at a most vulnerable state. In early 2020, she got her hands on Jasper Jax Jacks (Ingo Rademacher), the father of Carly’s daughter Josslyn (Eden McCoy). Then there’s Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison). Nina was sleeping with Drew fresh out of her relationship with Carly’s husband, Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard).
General Hospital: Nina Reeves And Carly Spencer’s men
Carly Spencer and Jack Brenna got together due to their a mutual attraction and intrigue of each other. Despite the complex situation, Carly gave the relationship a shot. But now that she’s so over his lies, and how he’s jeopardizing Josslyn’s life, Carly is ready to kick Jack to the curb. Currently, Carly is on a secret mission with Valentin Cassadine to take down Brennan. She’s hurt and over what they had because she’s come to terms with the fact that it was all based on lies.
Will Nina and Jack Brennan Hookup?
Now that Carly knows that Jack recruited Joss into the WSB and has been lying from the start, it’s only a matter of time before these two are
Once the cat is out of the bag, and Carly makes it known that she and Jack are over, will Nina and Jack end up together at some point? Why not? Nina has sunk her grip into Jax, Sonny, and Drew, so why not Jack Brennan too?
The son of Nikolas Cassadine and Esme Prince is a Cassadine heir, a legendary Spencer, a Webber, and a Chamberlain. If you’re asking, I’d say that’s a pretty impressive bloodline- depending on your definition of the word impressive.
A child with that caliber of genetic makeup is not a child to put on the back burner. For a while, Ace was front and center with his mom and dad, Esme and Spencer. But when Baby Ace’s mom allegedly died, the main character vibe went to the wayside. That’s when Ace moved in with his grandma Laura Collins (Genie Francis). We’ve barely heard a peep about him since.
Twins Jay and Joey Clay joined General Hospital on February 23, 2023. Instantly, the shared role was well received by GH fans, and the boys stole viewer’s hearts. Baby Ace Cassadine quickly became a fan favorite. Let’s just say that Heather Webber and Laura Collins weren’t the only doting grandmother types to fawn over the Cassadine heir.
Often times a child actor is replaced by TPTB for various reasons. Mainly, children are aged to fit a new storyline, more suited for an older child. In the Soap Opera world we call that SORAS. SORAS stands for Soap Opera Rapid Age Syndrome.
Baby Ace Cassadine Recast
December 2nd episode of General Hospital revealed a new baby Ace Cassadine. Although the iconic Soap decided against giving baby Ace a case of SORAS, GH has recast Laura Collins’s grandson. Apparently, the upcoming storyline direction doesn’t require a sudden grow/glow up for Nikolas and Esme’s son.
According to Jay and Joey Clay’s Instagram (run by mom, Lana), the boys have something in the works. Lana shared a post on November 19th, and reflected on the twins’ “journey into the entertainment world.” Lana’s post refers to Jay and Joey’s time on General Hospital in the past tense. Sadly, this tells GH fans what we need to know, but not what we want to hear.
General Hospital: Jay and Joey Clay
Evidently, Jay and Joey Clay no longer share the role of baby Ace. Instead, Ace has been recast. On a happier note, Lana Clay’s Instagram post revealed that the boys have been pretty busy. She alludes to a new project for them, and to look out for them in 2026.
Although we already miss the Clay brothers as Ace, we look forward to watching them grow and branch off into new projects. Best of luck to Jay and Joey, and their family as they continue on this journey.
Detective Nathan West (Ryan Paevey) came through for Rocco (Finn Carr) and his family in a big way. After Rocco was assaulted in lockup, Nathan did what he felt was necessary to ensure Rocco‘s safety. He went above his superiors and made the decision to take Rocco into his custody. The born again Detective even risked reprimand from ADA Turner. Needless to say, Lulu (Alexa Havins) was beyond grateful.
Nathan’s connection to Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) hasn’t changed his friendship with Lulu. Despite being Britt’s brother, Nathan and Lulu have no beef between them. Lulu sees Britt as a threat to her relationship with Rocco, and Doran trust her around her son. There’s obvious tension and animosity among Rocco’s parents, and the woman who stole their embryo.
So how will Britt feel if her brother Nathan gets closer to Lulu Spencer? Recent General Hospital rumors tease that while as Nathan and Lulu get closer, they receive backlash for their developing relationship. Perhaps Lulu’s ability to compartmentalize the different relationships in her life while Britt expresses her disapproval.
According to General Hospital rumors, Britt isn’t the only one to disapprove of a Nathan and Lulu romance. Does the name Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) ring a bell? How would Lulu’s bestie feel about Lulu getting involved with her ex-husband? And he’s only an ex because he was presumed dead, not because they ended their marriage. Do you think Maxie will have a problem if her bestie and her ex-husband are romantically involved by the time she wakes up from her coma?
Rocco Falconeri (Finn Carr) remains in jail after unlawfully accessing and trespassing inside Professor Dalton’s (Daniel Goddard) research lab. General Hospital recaps recall that things got out of hand when Dalton lied. Sonny wasn’t going to stand for Dalton framing Rocco. ADA Turner focuses on Sonny now that Dalton is missing.
Coming up on General Hospital, Rocco’s family continues to work towards his release. Certain family Emmett’s have their own unique way of getting things done- especially when family is at risk, or in any kind of danger. Right now, Rocco is behind bars for something he sort of did. He may have broken into the lab with Britt’s stolen key fob, but he definitely didn’t destroy Dalton’s lab.
Meanwhile, Rocco’s grandparents, Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and Laura Collins (Genie Francis) are harboring a secret that’s pivotal to Rocco’s case. Now that Dalton is “missing” Justine Turner (Nazneen Contractor) must navigate the situation differently. She knows how angry Sonny is, especially after Rocco got roughed up in jail. Was Sonny’s threat enough for Justine to make it a point to nail Sonny for Dalton’s murder?
