General Hospital Spoilers: Carly Catches Wind of Deception- Carly Confronts Ava About Sonny

Despite Sonny Corinthos’s mindset, Carly and Jason are not against him. In fact, they are about the only two people who truly look out for Sonny’s best interest. They know him inside and out, and stand by him even when they’re on the outs.

For most of their adult lives Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) and Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) have been the closest and most trusted people to Sonny. But since breaking up his marriage for Nina, he and Carly haven’t been the same. Furthermore, Sonny’s relationship with his best friend has drastically changed.

GH recaps remind us who stood by Jason when he was accused of shooting Dante. Even Sonny doubted his former right hand man. Sonny treated Jason like an enemy upon his homecoming because he assumed the worst. Then, Jason was vindicated after having been accused of shooting Dante. Apparently, Jason’s innocence didn’t matter to Sonny because he refuses to talk things out. Instead, Sonny harbors anger toward the two people he can actually trust.

Right now Sonny finds it difficult to trust anyone because he’s been burned many times before. As a result, the trust between Sonny and Jason and Carly is gone. Although the Port Charles mob boss has unfairly accused and shunned his best friend and ex-wife, Jason and Carly have not wavered.

Ava Jerome (Maura West) knows her way around the mob. She claims that she’s been out of the bizz for years but her demeanor tells otherwise. Ava and her siblings were heavily into organized crime which led to both Julian (William deVry) and Olivia’s (Tonja Walker) deaths.

GH recaps recall a brief overview of the Jerome family in relation to organized crime. First, Olivia Jerome died in 1990 at the hand of her own brother. And in true soap opera form she resurfaced nearly thirty years later in 2017. That’s when Olivia ordered the car bomb that ended Morgan Corinthos’s life. Ava had a hand in Morgan’s death as well, becoming another enemy of Sonny’s.

Ava’s Intentions For Sonny Business Or Pleasure?

Then Julian Jerome fell off of a bridge while fighting with Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard). His body was recovered and he was pronounced dead, but Sonny had gone missing. Presumably, we all know what happened next. First, amnesia. Then Nina. Now here we are in present day Port Charles. Allegedly, Ava isn’t a mobster, and Olivia and Julian are still dead. Moreover, Ava and Sonny have come along way since what she did to Sonny’s son. She and Sonny are on the best terms they’ve ever been since Morgan, and the birth of their daughter, Avery.

General Hospital rumors speculate that Ava and Sonny’s newfound closeness is all a ruse for her plan. Right now Sonny is wary of people he once called his most people. He’s turned his back on Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) because of the lack of transparency about the FBI. As for Carly, Sonny has tossed her to the wind once again. The past is the past but sometimes history repeats itself. Although Ava Jerome (Maura West) and Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) have never bonded quite like this, they’ve been down a similar road.

For the most part Sonny and Ava have been civil co-parents at best. General recaps recall that Sonny and Ava’s life long connection began after one night of bizarre passion. Sonny’s son Morgan had died and Ava had a hand in his tragic death. She switched Morgan’s (Bryan Craig) medication which led to the events that took his life. In fact, he stonewalled them so hard that Anna had to find ways to get around Jagger’s orders.

General Hospital recaps highlight Cyrus Renault’s efforts to help Anna and Jordan. He was sent to Pentonville to preach the Lord’s good word, and to gain information regarding the investigation. Somehow, Anna convinced him that by helping her get answers, he could potentially help a lost soul to find God.

Oh no! Ava Jerome was befriended, betrayed, and soon she’s be blamed! Allowing Austin to help her with Nikolas’s body was her biggest mistake. Then again, Austin had grander plans for Ava all along.

According to General Hospital recaps, Ava met Dr. Austin Holt quickly took kindly to each other in a strange way. In just a short time they went from fast friends to accomplices in a felony crime. They didn’t have undeniable chemistry, or even a strong desire or attraction. Instead, it seems like Ava believed that their friendship was genuine. As for anything beyond friendship, Ava admitted that she didn’t know what to make of their night together. Sadly, little did she know that Austin was lying to her the entire time.
