A shocking reveal of last week’s Cliffhanger Friday changes took fans by surprise. Austin Holt lied there lifeless as he bled from a gunshot wound. Someone shot Dr. Austin Holt and left him for dead. Was it Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober)? Or maybe Nikolas Cassadine? Hey, what about Ava Jerome (Maura West)?

Many had hoped that Austin Gatlin Holt (Roger Howarth), or that if he died then Roger could return as someone else. Sadly, neither of those ideal scenarios came true. Instead, General Hospital spoilers and news reports confirm that Austin is dead. GH Blog previously shared Roger Howarth’s GH exit announcement and confirmation.

Austin and his lollipop 🍭 licking cousin Mason have been up to no good. The difference is that Mason is seemingly rotten to the core while Austin has been forced by Cyrus. So if Mason is the real bad guy and Austin was forced to go along for the ride, then justice didn’t come through. Instead, Mason gets off with a slap on the wrist with a trip to Pentonville. Meanwhile, Austin, a doctor, winds up dead.

We are sad to see both of these actors and their roles go. Fans truly felt that Roger would return in a new role as he’s been notoriously known for role switch ups on GH. Unfortunately, that’s not the case. And as for Mason, the door was left open for Nathanyael and Mason to return.

Dr. Austin Gatlin Holt was shot and left to die. Immediately, GH fans feared the worst for their beloved character’s fate. It’s no secret that Roger Howarth has a dedicated Dan following. That said, it doesn’t really matter which time he played, Howarth was welcomed with open arms.

General Hospital spoilers and rumors regarding Howarth’s GH status after Austin was shot. Many feared the worst for Austin, dreading his sudden death. Meanwhile, other GH rumors speculated that Austin would recover. But those weren’t the only GH rumors surrounding Austin’s shooting. Additionally, GH fans mentioned the fact that they’ve killed off Howarth’s roles in the past, just to bring him back to the canvas as someone entirely new.

Sadly, GH fan’s fears have come true. According to GH news reports, Roger Howarth confirmed that his time at General Hospital is over. He took to Instagram to share the news, along with his gratitude for his experience at General Hospital. So many had hoped that Austin would live. But the love for this character came over time. At first, many were skeptical of the Pautuck doctor and mourned Franco Baldwin’s unexpected demise. Then, Austin began to grow on GH fans despite the fizzled ikr attempt at romance with Maxie (Kirsten Storms). Finally, Austin and Ava’s storyline brought fans to the edge of their seats as Cyrus pulled the strings.

Roger Howarth will truly be missed as we regret to confirm his GH Exit.

It’s a good thing that Roger Howarth’s versatility is evident through in his performances. The roles he plays tend to change up like the wanderer trying to find themselves. Over the years Howard has played many different roles in daytime television. But his iconically known role is one soap fans will never forget. Undoubtedly, Roger’s portrayal of Todd Manning is one of the most recognized roles in the genre.

Furthermore, Howarth was brought on to play the iconic Franco after James Franco stepped away from the infamous role. Then, Roger’s portrayal of Franco’s unexpected demise shook the fans. Then lastly, Howarth returned yet again, this time as a mysterious a doctor from Pautuck, Dr. Austin Gatlin Holt. As it turns out, Austin is also a Quartermaine.

Last month General Hospital news reports confirmed Howarth’s upcoming GH exit. I’m early October, Roger addressed Austin’s departure and explained the nature of the exit. Thankfully, General Hospital spoilers reveal that they Austin isn’t gone for good. Despite the latest cliffhanger Friday episode, GH news and spoilers confirm that Dr. Austin Holt isn’t dead. Therefore, Roger Howarth’s GH exit is only temporary.

Dr. Austin Holt (Roger Howarth) is undoubtedly a brave man. First, he found pregnant, helpless Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) in the middle of the woods. She was about to give birth without any medical assistance. That’s when the mystery man himself showed up out of nowhere and saved the day. Furthermore, Austin has shown is bravery toward the dangers brought on by Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober).

Additionally, he risked himself to keep Ava safe. He hasn’t really done anything that would lead the audience to believe that he’s just as bad as Cyrus and/or Mason. But that doesn’t mean that Ava and anyone else sees that Cyrus is pulling the strings. At this point, for all Ava knows, Austin could be working right alongside Cyrus.

Austin Throws Cyrus Under The Bus?

General Hospital recaps recall Ava and Austin’s heated confrontation. She’s absolutely livid and hurt by his lies and demanded answers. That’s when he came clean about everything.

According to GH spoilers and rumors Austin implicates Cyrus if he turns himself in. He’s already displayed selfless bravery and sacrifices to keep others safe. So will Austin take it even further and throw Cyrus under the bus? Or will he turn himself into the PCPD. General Hospital previews indicate that Austin walks into the PCPD.
