Maurice Benard is a three-time Daytime winner for his role as Sonny Corinthos on ABC’s General Hospital. Benard joined the Soap Opera in August of 1993. Since then Port Charles has never been the same. Organized crime has become an ongoing problem on the local and even Federal level.
The Port Charles Police Department has their work cut out for them when it comes to PC’s most prominent mob boss. When he first arrive in 1993, Sonny was law enforcement’s number one priority. Today, the fact remains that Sonny gives the authorities a run for the money. He’s been arrested and detained, and even put on trial. But the PCPD and the Feds have yet to stick the landing.

Sam and Sonny have a long history, which actually includes a short romantic connection. Sam and Sonny actually conceived a child that unfortunately passed away at birth. At that moment is when Sam and Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) knew they found their soul mate within each other.
Life circumstances lead Sam and Jason to fall deeply in love, creating one of the greatest love stories in soap opera history. Their road has been rocky, but filled with unconditional love in between all the drama, danger, and heartache. Recently, Sam cut things off with Jason for the safety of their children, due to the nature of his job with Sonny Corinthos.
