General Hospital’s Maurice Benard
Maurice Benard is a three-time Daytime winner for his role as Sonny Corinthos on ABC’s General Hospital. Benard joined the Soap Opera in August of 1993. Since then Port Charles has never been the same. Organized crime has become an ongoing problem on the local and even Federal level.
The Port Charles Police Department has their work cut out for them when it comes to PC’s most prominent mob boss. When he first arrive in 1993, Sonny was law enforcement’s number one priority. Today, the fact remains that Sonny gives the authorities a run for the money. He’s been arrested and detained, and even put on trial. But the PCPD and the Feds have yet to stick the landing.
Maurice Benard is a busy man. Between juggling his legendary role as Sonny Corinthos on General Hospital, advocating for mental health awareness with State of Mind, his family, and other side projects, Benard is a multifaceted talent and gives back to the community with his work and care for mental health.
Maurice has made life long friendships throughout his journey on the set of General Hospital, which includes but is obviously not limited to, co-stars Steve Burton (Jason Morgan) and Réal Andrews (Marcus Taggert), Chad Duell (Michael Corinthos), Bryan Craig (Morgan Corinthos), Laura Wright (Carly Corinthos), former co-star Vanessa Marcil (Brenda Barrett), Ian Buchanan (Duke Lavery) and more.
General Hospital news released information regarding a secret project in which Maurice is working with Réal Andrews, Ian Buchanan, and more to make up this stellar cast.
General Hospital spoilers reveal Benard’s secret project is currently underway with Benard as Director. Andrews and Buchanan work alongside each other in scenes Andrews described as, “playing detectives and we were all laughing our hearts out.” Andrews revealed that he is not at liberty to say much about this project, other than it is Maurice’s personal, secret, project, in which he is directing himself. Andrews goes on via Instagram to describe how it is being directed by Maurice. In an Instagram post, Andrews says, “All Maurice cares about is that the scenes are real and truthful,” he contributed in saying, “and I have never had so much fun…????, and describes the film as, “very Tarentinoesq.”
Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) and Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) have a friendship for the ages. Nothing can come between this bond. Not even death. They have been and always will be there for each other, sticking right by one another’s side through life’s crazy journey.
Jason has been a best friend to both Carly, and her husband, Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard). There isn’t another person Sonny trusts more than Jason and that goes both ways.
Jason and Carly started off steamy before she met and became Sonny’s First Lady. Now the trio has become inseparable.
General Hospital spoilers reveal Carly is grief stricken now that she believes Sonny is dead. She puts up a strong front for her kids even though she’s crumbling. Thankfully she has Jason, and Jason has her as well as a support system and shoulder to cry on as they both grieve for Sonny.
Previously, GH’s Maurice Benard hinted that Sonny should keep an eye on Jason and Carly as they could lean on each other while both grieving over the loss of Sonny.
General Hospital news and spoilers reveal a statement from GH writer, Dan O’Connor. “There is always the question of how close can Jason and Carly get,” hints Dan O’Connor, “especially when Sonny is out of the picture and believed to be dead. We’ll wait and see.”
This statement may come to a shock to die hard Sonny and Carly fans, and GH fans as a whole. The Sonny, Carly, Jason, dynamic has been an iconic part of this drama filled sudser for over two decades. General Hospital rumors claim a Jason and Carly hookup could actually happen while Sonny is out of the picture, since he is believed to be be gone for good.

Another option that has been floating around the GH rumor mill is that Brenda Barrett (Vanessa Marcil) will finally make her grand reappearance on General Hospital, and will either hide Sonny and have him all to herself, or find him and bring him home to his family in Port Charles.
How long will it take for Sonny to regain his memory or at least be reunited with people who love him? Hopefully Carly, Jason, Michael, and the rest of Sonny’s loved ones can help spark memories of his life.

He already threatened Laura and told her flat out that their sibling connection won’t help her if she doesn’t materialize Florence ASAP.
