General Hospital: Cameron Mathison reacts after comments upset his daughter Laila
From Hallmark to Great American Family, General Hospital’s Cameron Mathison is known for his multitude of good-guy roles. Even the current character he plays started off as one of the good guys. Drew went from Nobleman Navy Seal to Cutthroat Congressman Cain. And don’t forget wife-stealing, home-wrecking Unc.
According to the latest General Hospital news, daytime tv actor and television host Cameron Mathison reacts after GH “fan” comments upset his daughter. The issue is that the here are some so-called General Hospital fans who struggle with the ability to differentiate between reality and fiction; actor vs. character. Mathison’s 19 year old daughter Laila stumbled upon some comments about her father, GH’s Drew Cain, and really didn’t appreciate some of the things that were being posted. The attacks on not only Drew, but Cameron as well struck a nerve with Laila. That’s when she FaceTimed her dad to discuss the disturbing things being said about her father on social media.
Sadly, some people can’t separate fiction from reality, and take out their feelings about a character onto the actors who plays them. As the age old explanation explains, if you hate the character, then the actor is doing their job! Drew Cain’s actions are out of Mathison’s control. So why become so disgruntled about a fictional character to the point of spreading nasty comments about the actor online?
GH Fans Insult Cameron Mathison Over Drew
While Drew Cain might be a vindictive and spiteful narcissist, the actor who plays him is not. In fact, GH cast-mates have chimed into the comments section to show their support for Mathison. Rory Gibson, GH’s Michael Corinthos commented, “The most kind, chill, generous guy on set,” about co-star Cameron Mathison. Additionally, Maurice Benard jumped to Mathison’s defense with his comment, “If you mess with Cameron, you’re gonna have to mess with me and I don’t think you wanna do that.”
The internet’s social media platforms have become today’s version of hate mail. Back in the day disgruntled fans would write into the show to express their dislike for certain characters, storylines, etc. Today, it’s much easier to hide behind the keyboard and spout whatever insults without thinking twice about how the comments affect others.
Mathison’s recent Instagram post reminds fans that their words impact real people. And not just the actors themselves, but family and loved ones as well.
The Quartermaine family has been under a lot of stress lately, which mostly began with Drew and Willow‘s affair. As things snowballed Drew was showing a different side to him a spiteful, selfish, and even dangerous side. Amongst the marital drama, Michael suffered terrible burns in a mob related explosion, and still uncle Drew showed no mercy. From there things really got out of hand and by the time Michael came home there was no turning back.
Michael and Willow’s marital problems became the entire family‘s problems when Drew targeted each and every quarter main after being tossed out of the family home. Meanwhile, things were not quiet for the rest of the Qs either.
During this time, Jason and Danny moved into the quarter remains after Sam died so that Danny Scout and Rocco could be together of course this caused more tension between Drew and Jason, and also put a strain on the family. Then there’s Gios paternity reveal. It was the nurses ball grand slam and Brooklyn, Dante, Olivia and Ned were there to watch it unfold. Needless to say that family has been under some major stress and that’s an understatement.
Will Ned survive His Emergency Bypass Surgery?
That brings us to the current General Hospital spoilers involving- you guessed it, a Quartermaine! Previously on General Hospital, Ned Quatermaine suffered a heart attack just outside of Bobby’s, while arguing with Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison). Drew accused Ned of pulling a fast one and claimed that he was faking his heart attack. That’s when Drew walked away and left Ned for dead. Wow, drew seems to be the gift of horror that just keeps on giving. It looks like Drew is the direct cause for Ned’s medical emergency, as the stress took its toll.
Thankfully, Emma, Gio, and Britt were there to help keep them alive until paramedics came. According to General Hospital recaps Ned was transported to General Hospital, where he now needs an emergency bypass surgery.
According to General Hospital spoilers and previews, Olivia and Brooklyn are surrounded by family as they await the outcome of Ned’s surgery.

In fact, Alexis still finds herself pleading with Drew, asking him if what he’s doing is what Sam would want. As it turns out, Drew doesn’t give a crap. All that talk about Sam McCall has sparked the latest General Hospital rumors According to GH news reports, Kelly Monaco confirmed that she was let go of GH role she brought to life, and captivated fans for over two decades.
After Monaco promised fans that she’d tell her side of the controversial story, the actess’s intentions never materialized. Instead, a podcast announcement got GH fans excited just to later learn that it was now a no-go with pal Shannan Moakler.
Kelly’s silence leaves much to the imagination, including the possibility of her return to GH as Sam.
