Sonny Corinthos Then and Now
Sonny Corinthos has been a key character on General Hospital since 1993, played by Maurice Benard. A powerful mob boss in Port Charles, he balances ruthless business tactics with fierce loyalty to his loved ones. He has faced many challenges, including bipolar disorder, turbulent romances, and deadly rivalries. Despite his criminal ties, he remains devoted to family and friends. His complex nature makes him a fan favorite. Co-star Laura Wright, who plays Carly Corinthos, calls him “the mobster with a heart of gold,” capturing his mix of toughness and compassion.
The perfect setup was in place for what was about to happened. As soon as Carly (Laura Wright) excepted Jason’s (Steve Burton) proposition for become his next of kin, the universe swept in and suddenly Carly found herself responsible for Jason’s life.
Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober) put a hit out on Jason Morgan in an attempt to get close to Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard). Cyrus wants to take over Port Charles and will stop at nothing to get what he wants.

Brando was at the right place at the right time when Cyrus put out that ambush hit on Sonny’s family on the docks. One thing we know is that Brando protected Sonny’s family.
General Hospital spoilers reveal Brando will meet with Cyrus Renault and this is possibly where Sam begins to grow suspicious. Knowing that Brando saved Carly and helped the entire situation, Sam will have a hard time figuring out why Brando would ever meet with Cyrus.

Brenda Barrett (Vanessa Marcil) is a name in Daytime TV that’s impossible to forget. And when we think of Brenda, we think of Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard). Sonny has been a key player in Port Charles for about three decades and is still today one of the main reasons GH fans tune in.

Michael Corinthos, now played by Chad Duell, is the third main actor to take on the role. Dylan Cash originated the role in 2002 before the inevitable SORAS that would soon occur in 2008. Drew Garrett stepped in as teen age Michael and played the part from 2009-2010. In 2010, Chad Duell took over the character as he was better for for a maturing, young adult.
General Hospital news and spoilers reveal Drew Garrett (ex-Michael Corinthos) wants to return to the set of General Hospital playing Sonny’s (Maurice Benard) son. But this time he would be taking on a recast role for Morgan Corinthos, replacing Bryan Craig. Morgan has been presumed dead since 2016. GH fans have been hoping Morgan isn’t really dead for the last four years, keeping the faith that GH will do what soaps do, and bring him back as if he’s been alive this entire time.
Back in 2019, GH fans were rallying on Twitter, suggesting Garrett take on the role as Morgan Corinthos recast. Garrett replied by retweeting a fan’s tweet that mentioned GH Executive Producer, Frank Valentini. Garrett added to the tweet, “Could it work?”

She launched the business with Dominique (Shell Danielson) and Scotty Baldwin and hired Julia’s sister Brenda Barrett (Vanessa Marcil) as the very first ‘Face of Deception.’ According to General Hospital history, when Dominique passed away in 1994, Scotty and Julian left the company, and left Lucy to run things as CEO. From there, the rest is history.
Fast forward twenty some years and Deception has found a new face and is ready to launch the modern day version of the cosmetic company. Things were starting to fall into place for Lucy when she discovered Sasha Gilmore (Sofia Mattsson). Sasha was the perfect woman to represent Deception and Lucy was ready to run with it. Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) and Lucy are working together to make sure this project becomes a success and they are counting on Sasha to help make that happen. Sasha is going through some major drama in her life after she and Michael broke up. Sasha is feeling overwhelmed and caved into being persuaded into taking drugs.
The Face Of Deception
General Hospital spoilers reveal Sasha’s drug use isn’t just a one time thing. Unfortunately, she is headed down a dark path which could jeopardize her own career as well as Deception as a whole.
As General Hospital rumors regarding the return of Brenda Barrett circulate, the story line has the potential to head into a direction no one saw coming. GH rumors suspect Marcil May return to General Hospital in the ear future after GH news and spoilers claim she is Dev Cerci’s (Ashton Arbab) mother. GH rumors hint that Sasha and Brenda will meet and connect during Sasha’s dark days as Brenda could return to step in to the role of representing the company. Lucy Coe will have to go to great lengths to keep Deception in a positive lime light, and by doing so it’s likely she will reach out to Brenda to come to Port Charles.
