Sonny Corinthos Then and Now
Sonny Corinthos has been a key character on General Hospital since 1993, played by Maurice Benard. A powerful mob boss in Port Charles, he balances ruthless business tactics with fierce loyalty to his loved ones. He has faced many challenges, including bipolar disorder, turbulent romances, and deadly rivalries. Despite his criminal ties, he remains devoted to family and friends. His complex nature makes him a fan favorite. Co-star Laura Wright, who plays Carly Corinthos, calls him “the mobster with a heart of gold,” capturing his mix of toughness and compassion.
It’s finally here, a date we can jot down as being the date the cast and crew of General Hospital head back to the studio. California Governor’s executive order prohibited the prediction of film throughout this global pandemic. Due to Covid-19, Hollywood has been at a stand still. Genera Hospital news and spoilers reveals that the show we resume production on July 20th. In other soap opera news, it has been announced that NBC’s, Days Of Our Lives, will start filming again September 1st.l, as they are the only soap opera to have remaining episodes at this time.
Nelle Benson (Chloe Lanier) has become much more than a pest to those who live in Port Charles. Over the course of the time this young woman has been living in town, the residents have been able to see Nelle’s true colors after being fooled for so long.
Bobbie Spencer (Jackie Zeman) saw through Nelle almost immediately as Nelle was pulling the wool over Carly Corinthos’ (Laura Wright) eyes. Carly was blinded by Nelle saving her daughter, Josslyn Jacks’ (Eden McCoy) life with her kidney. Nelle has managed to infiltrate her way into the Corinthos family first through Joss and Carly, then Carly’s son Michael (Chad Duell), and husband, Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard). She has reeked havoc on all their lives, becoming a psychopathic villain.
Other than Carly’s stepfather, Frank Benson, Nelle’s true lineage remains unknown. General Hospital spoilers indicate we will be finding more and more about Nelle’s biological makeup, which would include close relatives like biological parents and possible siblings.
Recent General Hospital rumors bring up two villains that could be potential biological parents of Nelle. Sonny’s current threat, Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober) is cut throat and shows no mercy. He is willing to go to great lengths to ruin Sonny which seems very familiar to what Nelle is capable of.
Nelle exhibits similar behavior to a prominent female mobster from Port Charles history. Faith Rosco (Cynthia Preston) was a dangerous psychopath who went after Sonny Corinthos and his family. Very similar to Nelle, these two women seem to have a lot in common. Like Faith, Nelle isn’t afraid of Sonny and his family. She didn’t hesitate to manipulate Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) by using her daughter Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) as leverage. Nelle is Joss’s kidney donor, and with that, Nelle was able to gain Carly’s trust from the get go, however, Bobbie Spencer (Jackie Zeman) saw right through Nelle from the beginning. Nelle then worked her way into Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) good graces, manipulating bane seducing him. She then somehow managed to intertwine herself into Sonny’s life, driving a wedge between him and Carly.
General Hospital rumors hint that Nelle’s background will be explored more deeply, revealing connections to Port Charles history. General Hospital rumors and spoilers suggest that Nelle could be the daughter of Cyrus Renault and Faith Rosco, which would explain her hated for the Corinthos family and her similar ways to her potential mom, Faith. These three would make a nice little family unit, and a huge threat to Sonny and his family.
Is it possible that Nelle is their daughter? Will Cynthia Preston return to reprise her role as the female mobster, Faith Rosco?
It has been a long rode with many twists and turns when it comes to how far we all have come during this global pandemic. In the beginning, General Hospital fans were warned the show would run out of episodes to air while our country was on lockdown due to Covid-19. It was originally thought that the quarantine would last only about two weeks, halting film production in LA County, including Daytime TV studios, such as Prospect Studios, where General Hospital is filmed. One thing led to another and our country’s health status took an unexpected turn. TPTB over at ABC and General Hospital, made an executive decision to incorporate flashbacks into each remaining episode in order to draw out the air time of new material. The plan worked, and GH was able to air new episodes until May 22nd. Since then, GH fans have been able to enjoy many of their favorite eras on General Hospital as the repeats took us down memory lane. Other networks such as CBS have already restarted film production, however, had to take a break to expand testing for Covid-19. General Hospital news and spoilers have indicated they will soon be next to return to work and begin filming new episodes. Many of us have wondered whether or not time will continue on as if there hasn’t been a break. It’s hard to say if the writers at GH will flash forward at least three months, and catch up fans on the major story lines. One story in particular that has been talked about quite a bit involves the possible return of Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna). In the event that the writers pick up timing where it was left off, General Hospital rumors hint there could be major GH news regarding Father’s Day. General Hospital rumors claim that when new episodes begin again, Dominic Zamprogna will return to his role as Dante Falconeri. In a previous article from General Hospital Blog, GH news and spoilers report that Zamprogna talked about a possible contract with GH, and bringing Dante home. In recent episodes, Dante’s mom, Olivia Falconeri (Lisa LoCicero), has been stressed out that she cannot her ahold of her son. Lulu Falconeri (Emme Rylan) is also struggling at times Dealing with how their son, Rocco, misses and needs his father. Either way, if the lives of those living in Port Charles pick up where they left off, or if time hops a few months, General Hospital rumors and comings and goings suggest Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) will receive a heartwarming gift which comes at a delicate time for the Corinthos family, regarding what is going on with Sonny’s father, Mike Corbin (Max Gail). The universe works in mysterious ways and Sonny may finally see the silver lining in losing his father if in turn, his son, Dante, comes home to the family.
Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) discuss Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober)
Some fans love it, others hate it! But we all know that the miss bowl sitting atop Sonny’s counter has made quite an impression on GH fans.
Sonny (Maurice Benard) and Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) have recently had a kitchen remodel. It was the talk of the soap fan circuit when General Hospital revealed Sonny and carlys new kitchen… and the main focus was the bowl of moss decor! Even Executive Producer, Frank Valentini weighed in at a fan event. Regarding the moss, Valentini explained, “So when it first showed up, I was like, ‘What is this?! It looks like moss or… like a bad salad.’” he recalled. ” But my production designer, who had done such a beautiful job transforming and creating the kitchen said, ‘No, it’s very chic. It’s what people do.’ And I just let her do it. So it’s kind of taken on a life of its own.
So now the burning question must be asked. And if you don’t know this is 100% a joke, well then we feel sorry for you. Should someone water this thing while the cast and crew is away on hiatus? Will it last the long hot Summer if California doesn’t open back up until August?
All across America, peaceful protests are being overlooked due to the violent riots that have broken out in major cities. These riots come after a Minnesota Police Officer held a black man down with his knee as he pleaded for his life. George Floyd died that day, and America wants justice. In New York, General Hospital’s Bryan Craig has turned to social media to speak out against the violence that is happening in the name of protest. He pleaded with looters to stop. Craig goes on to mention the focus is being shifted from what happened to George Floyd now to the violence of the riots. Craig played Morgan Corinthos, son of Sonny and Carly Corinthos (Maurice Benard and Laura Wright), and has been rumored as a potential return some day. Take a look at Bryan Craig’s Instagram post and caption below.
I think it’s safe to say most of us are losing it a little bit after being in quarantine for about three months. Stir crazy, bored, over it… those are just a few ways to describe what we are mostly feeling at this time. It’s so important to stay light and keep humor relevant in our lives during these times. General Hospital’s Maurice Benard (Sonny Corinthos) knows how to let loose, have some fun, and make the best out of a not so ideal situation. We all have something (or a few somethings) we miss while business remain closed and our daily routines have come to a halt. I’m a recent Instagram post, Benard is shown getting his version of hair services during quarantine ?. Check out the hilarious video below!
Julian Jerome (William DeVry) has been forced against his will to marry the town psychopath, Nelle Benson (Chloe Lanier). Nelle blackmailed Julian into marrying her, because somehow in her warped mind, she believes being married to Julian will boost her chances of winning custody of Wiley over her ex, Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) and his new wife, Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen). However, that psychopath just so happens to be trying to take away the grandchild of mobster, a personal enemy to Julian, Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Bernard). General Hospital spoilers reveal Julian struck a nerve with Sonny by marrying Nelle, and Sonny won’t just let this slide. In General Hospital previews for the upcoming episode, Sonny is shown talking to Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) and Julian in the courtroom. Sonny says, “You need to do what needs to be done.” This definitely sounds like an order. But to whom? Is Sonny warning Jason to take care of the problem (Julian), or is Sonny ordering Julian to put a stop to this madness with Nelle?
Molly Lansing Davis (Haley Pullos) has found herself in drama filled predicament after an on-purpose misunderstanding perpetrated by TJ’s mom (Tajh Bellow), Jordan Ashford (Briana Nicole Henry). Jordan purposely led Molly to believe TJ had ghosted her after being turned down by Molly when he proposed. Jordan didn’t want Molly to know the truth, that TJ had been kidnapped by Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober), she she lied to Molly and pushed her away. Molly wound up meeting and having a one night stand with Brando Corbin (Johnny Wactor), Sonny Corinthos’ (Maurice Benard) cousin. Molly and TJ have been reunited and Brando as sworn to keep quiet about that night.
Now that Molly’s other sister, Kristina Corinthos Davis (Lexi Ainsoworth) is back in Port Charles, Sam Morgan (Kelly Monaco). Molly, and Kristina are catching up on sisterly drama. Molly confided in her sisters regarding what happened between her and Brando, and how it effects her relationship with TJ. Molly sounds like she has never been more sure of anything in her life when she tells Sam and Kristina how in love she is with TJ. It almost sounds like she is trying to convince not only her sisters, but herself of the feelings she has for TJ.
General Hospital spoilers hint that Molly will start to second guess herself the further and further she gets to spending the rest of her life with TJ as they approach their domestic partnership. Molly can’t stop thinking about being questioned by Sam and Kristina regarding her reason for saying yes to a domestic partnership with TJ. Sam asked Molly is she said yes because she just almost lost him, and Kristina asked if she felt pressured.
General Hospital spoilers indicate there will be trouble ahead for Molly and TJ’s relationship after Molly can’t outlive her night with Brando.
General Hospital rumors claim Molly will end up pregnant with Brando’s baby, and will hide it from TJ in one way or another.
Molly and TJ have been together for ten years, but are they walking into the end?
Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober) is a fierce villain who isn’t afraid to get his hands dirty. He believes he’s untouchable now that he was able to get Commissioner Jordan Ashford (Briana Nicole Henry) right where he wants her after he used her son TJ (Tajh Bellow) as leverage to get her to allow his illegal activity to pass through Port Charles.
Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) know all about the situation Jordan was in with Renault and helped her get her son back. But that doesn’t come without a price.
Cyrus has put a target on the backs of many powerful people in Port Charles including Sonny, Jordan, and Tagger, which looks like (for now) Cyrus’ was successful in eliminating Taggert’s (Real Andrews). However Genera Hospital rumors go back and forth on whether Taggert is really alive or actually dead.
General Hospital spoilers reveal Renault has a new plan that will shake the people of Port Charles as he plots to kill Sonny’s right hand man, Jason Morgan. This is a bold move by Cyrus and many think he is underestimating Jason Morgan. Jason has always been a step ahead of the bad guys. He has remarkable instincts and also knows how to protect and fight.
In this big plot to kill Jason, General Hospital rumors hunt it won’t be an easy fight for either side. Will Cyrus run Jason out of town before he has the chance to kill him? Or will Jason stand his ground and fight back while protecting the ones he loves?
The production of new episode of General Hospital has been put on hold since mid March due to the threat of the global pandemic, Covid-19. The cast and crew of ABC’s GH has been on hiatus for over a month, and it remains uncertain as to when everyone will be able to head back to work and jump back into production.
General Hospital news and spoilers report the cast and crew of General Hospital is still on hiatus, and are following social distancing orders, which includes the halt of production at Prospect Studios in California. Quarantine is still in effect for most parts of USA and it remains uncertain when our personal as well as work lives get back to normal.
General Hospital spoilers show GH’s Ingo Rademacher who plays Jasper ‘Jax’ Jacks reaching out to his fellow co-stars and friends during this time of quarantine, expressing how he is missing his GH family.
The Executives over at ABC and GH have spread out the airing of new episodes by incorporating flashbacks within new episodes, along with airing repeat flashback episodes every Friday while still in quarantine.
We look forward to the day the order to isolate is lifted and we can all return to our families, friends, routine, work life, and entertainment outlets. Until then we are all in this together and continue to support one another throughout and beyond this difficult time.
