General Hospital Spoilers: Will Y&R Alum Jordi Vilasuso Take Over As Nikolas Cassadine?

Jodi Vilasuso as new Nikolas Cassadine

Nikolas Cassadine was first introduced on General Hospital in 1996. Tyler Christopher originated the role and left a lasting legacy. While the time has changed hands a few times over the years, Tyler Christopher’s portrayal of Nikolas Cassadine is forever iconic.

In 2019, Marcus Coloma joined General Hospital cast as the 5th actor to play the infamous Dark Prince of Spoon Island. Despite the fresh faces that played Nikolas in between Christopher and Coloma, those two actors left behind the most memorable impressions.

Stephen Martines/Coltin Scott as Nikolas Cassadine

As GH recaps recall, Stephen Martinez, (alternative name Coltin Scott) also played Nikolas Cassadine. While I don’t speak for everyone, but to me it feels like his 1999-2003 run as the future ex-Mr. Ava Jerome (Nik) was more like 4 weeks than 4 years. Oddly enough, Coloma spent less time in the role than Martinez, yet it seems that GH fans have a tendency to overlook Martinez as the iconic Cassadine. With all due respect to Stephen, he’s a great actor. But some people just fit it happen, and for Nikolas Cassadine, that is Tyler Christopher and Marcus Coloma.

Jodi Vilasuso as new Nikolas Cassadine

Unexpectedly, General Hospital news reports confirmed that Marcus Coloma’s contract was not renewed, and the actor was leaving the 60 year old soap. Fans and co-stars were shocked when the news broke, causing many to question the TPTB’s decision.

General Hospital spoilers reveal that Nikolas is ready about ready to show his face. Maybe not in Port Charles quite yet, but he’s on the love. Previously, General Hospital hired Adam Huss to step in for Coloma on brief occasions, and then again when Marcus Coloma left General Hospital. This brought about confusion among fans, especially because of what what’s going on with Nikolas’s character. Ava Jerome had just bonked him over the head during the role change-up.

So naturally, confusion grew around whether or not Nikolas was dead. Did Ava really kill him? Also, how did he go missing? Meanwhile, Austin Gatlin Holt (Roger Howarth) had all of the answers. Obviously, we all know now that Bik is alive and well. The role was recast by Adam Huss, but there isn’t confirmation on whether or not Huss is here to stay. That said, GH spoilers tease that it’s possible that Y&R star, Jodi Vilasuso is gearing up to play the infamous Nikolas Cassadine.

General Hospital Spoilers: Steve Burton Shows Off His Tattoo, Receives Mixed Reviews From Fans

Steve Burton shirtless tattoo

General Hospital, Y & R, Days Of Our Lives: Beyond Salem, Stone Cold and the Jackal, and Port Chuck, are just a few of the reasons why Steve Burton is such a beloved actor. But he is best known in his iconic role as Jason Morgan in ABC’s GH.

Sadly, General Hospital fans were devastated when GH news confirmed Steve’s GH exit. It seems that Steve and Kelly Thiedbaud were headed down a news storyline path, when once again, Jason Morgan “dies.” Previously, General Hospital spoilers revealed that he, along with co-star Ingo Rademacher who played Jasper “Jax” Jacks, were let go over a vaccine mandate. Reportedly, the mandate was implemented by Disney/ABC Network. Fast forward several months and General Hospital news and spoilers reveal that Steve Burton has moved on from the 59 year old daytime drama and has joined the cast of Days Of Our Lives: Beyond Salem.

Steve Burton Shirtless With New Tattoo

General Hospital spoilers reveal a little look into his personal life. On April 12th, Steve shared a selfie which showed off his arm tattoo. The photo received comment from co-star and friend, Chad Duell (Michael Corinthos). Duell wrote, “Digging the tats Steven ????????.” It looks like Steve has had this tattoo for a few months, but has recently made his ink the focal point of some of his IG posts.

According to GH news reports, Steve recently shared a photo with his tattoo artist. The photo displays his new arm tattoo, and Burton captioned the pic, “legend in the tattoo biz, Joel Bones.”

General Hospital Blog would like to extend our encouragement to Steve. We absolutely LOVE your new ink and don’t believe for a second that a tattoo would hinder you from landing roles. Many of the actors have tattoos. In fact, one actor that comes to mind is Jason Thompson (Patrick Drake). Others include, Tyler Chistopher (ex-Nikolas Cassadine, GH), Robert LaSardo, who not only played Manny Ruiz on GH, but has a long list of acting credits which include CSI: Miami. LaSardo also collaborated with Clint Eastwood and Bradley Cooper in the movie, The Mule, Days star Landon Archey (Eli Grant), Lauren Koslow (Kate Roberts, Days), Kamar de Los Reyes (Antonio, OLTL), along with many more.

GH Fans On Steve Burton’s Tattoo: Let’s Stay Positive

GH news reports reveal that some fans have freaked out in the comments. Some claim that Steve’s tattoo will prevent him from acting (particularly returning to GH). Although most comments were positive and encouraging, a few nasysayers had to share their not-so-positive opinions. We see no reason why Steve’s new ink would ever prevent him from working in the acting industry. In fact, he already landed a new role on the 5 episode series, Beyond Salem. Way to go, Steve! We LOVE your new tattoo! Fans can check it out below!

General Hospital news reports shared the great news of their engagement on Valentine’s Day, February 14th, 2021. GH fans have since awaited the announcement of their wedding date.

General Hospital spoilers reveal Chad and Courtney have set the date for their special day. Over the weekend, Courtney shared a TikTok made with Chad, announcing her bachelorette party, in a silly, fun loving skit.

General Hospital news reports reveal Chad and Courtney will be tying the knot in the Fall, on October 23rd, 2021.

Confirmed! Steve Burton OUT at Y&R

SteveBurtonrecastSteve Burton left his 21 year run on ABC’s General Hospital in 2012. He played the iconic role of Jason Quartermaine/Morgan, and become the Daytime TV face of the Port Charles mob, alongside c0-star Maurice Benard (Sonny Corinthos).

Burton’s departure from his role as Jason on GH became one of the biggest upsets in Daytime. Burton’s decision came as a result of what was said to be what was best for his family. He joined the cast of CBS’ The Young and the Restless, as Dylan McAvoy.

The role of Jason Morgan was recast by Y&R vet, Billy Miller. It was hard for fans to accept at the beginning, however, JaSam fans have accepted and embraced the new role.

Steve Burton has confirmed via Twitter, his departure from Y&R this coming December, at his contract’s end.

What will Steve decide next?

Would you like to see him reprise his role as Jason Morgan on General Hospital?

A New Lucky Spencer Could Be on His Way to PC

Lucky Spencer is the son of legendary lovers Lucas Lorenzo (Luke) Spencer (Tony Geary) and the beautiful Laura Spencer (Genie Francis). He is the half brother of Prince Nikolas Cassadine (Tyler Christopher) and the ex-husband of the lovely Elizabeth Webber (Rebecca Herbst), among many other connections in Port Charles.

Lucky left Port Charles after being betrayed and hurt by the love of his life, Elizabeth and his own brother, Nikolas. Liz and Nik were best friends for many years. In more recent years, after being on and off again with Liz’s great love Lucky, and Nikolas losing his true love and Liz’s best friend Emily, Nik and Liz grew to be more than friends. There relationship became romantic and was a steamy love affair. Lucky’s heart belonged to Elizabeth at the time and Liz was torn between the two brothers. When Lucky found out that he had been betrayed by the two people he cared for most, he ultimately ended up leaving town.

Since actor and portrayer of Lucky Spencer, Jonathan Jackson is now on ABC’s hit series, Nashville, it doesn’t look like we will be seeing him reprise his role as Lucky any time soon.

There have been recent rumors circulating regarding Lucky returning to GH and who will be playing him. It seems like General Hospital has been getting a few stars from NBC’s The Young and the Restless, such as Michelle Stafford (Nina Clay) and possibly Billy Miller who has been reported to play the new Jason Morgan this August. The most current news regarding a new Lucky is that Y&R star Michael Muhney will be cast to play General Hospital’s Lucky Spencer. Recently, he and actor Rick Hearts (Ric Lansing) have been quite friendly with their twitter exchanges. There is a possibility that the two have gotten to know one another taping on the set of GH. With Michael Muhney’s recent departure from Y&R, it is likely that this rumor will come true in the near future.

General Hospital Blog will keep fans posted on any concrete news from executives that confirm this casting rumor. In the mean time, hang tight and keep watching GH!

The General Hospital and Y&R Saga

It seems as though the General Hospital fans cannot seem to put down the Steve Burton story. It should be simple, right? Steve Burton left his role as Jason Morgan after 21 years because he moved to Tennessee for his family. At this point, we all wish it was that simple. This has been an ongoing saga for months on end now. After leaving General Hospital, it was shockingly announced that Steve Burton was joining the cast of The Young and the Restless as Dylan. Fans were outraged and accused Steve of plotting this with friend Jill Farren Phelps over at Y&R all along. Burton has already made numerous attempts to convince the fans that was not the case but for some reason some of the fans just cannot let it go.Not only is Steve getting grief from his devoted General Hospital fans who have felt abandoned by their favorite daytime actor, he is also receiving some negativity from the Y&R fans. Y&R fans claim that ever since Burton arrived the show revolves around his character Dylan, fans calling it “The Dylan Show.”

In regard to the entire issue with GH and Y&R fans, Steve explained what actually is going on, he said, “Listen, without the fans we don’t have a show. I understand their frustrations and I know that they don’t necessarily like change. I guess maybe my coming to Y&R upsets people because they don’t really know the truth of what happened. What you and I both know — that GH didn’t make a deal with me. And that’s the whole truth. My contract was up and they didn’t want to play ball and make it work. At the time, I didn’t want to throw anyone under the bus over there but of course, as soon as it was announced I was going to Y&R, people thought the whole thing was planned by Jill from Day 1, which it was not. I vividly remember my manager telling me how ABC Business Affairs had called him to say, “Hey, is Steve going to Y&R now that Jill’s over there?” And my manager said, ‘No, he wants to make a deal with you! Quit dragging your feet. Make a deal.’ But they wouldn’t.”

You win some, you lose some, and you can’t please them all. There was more real life drama in the soap world when actress Michelle Stafford left her role as Phyllis on The Young and the Restless and joined General Hospital. Fans over at Y&R are missing their longtime fan favorite of Genoa City just as GH fans are missing Burton. With the arrival of Nina Clay, Silas’ wife in Port Charles, Michelle Stafford hasn’t exactly gotten a warm welcome from General Hospital fans. Maybe Steve Burton is right, and people just don’t like to accept change. But if things don’t “change” at some point, or if fans don’t cling onto that small hope that their favorite actor or actress will be coming back to the roles they are best known for, these stories about Steve Burton and Michelle Stafford just may never be put to rest.

As for now, Steve Burton is happy at Y&R and intends to stay there for the foreseeable future. Stafford is happily playing the role of Nina Clay on General Hospital and has no intention of leaving and reprising her role as Phyllis on The Young and the Restless. The role of Phyllis has already been recast and will now be played by soap vet Gina Tognoni. Rumors are still up in the air on the Jason Morgan recast. It is still rumored that Billy Miller will be playing Jason Morgan, but no new news about a signed contract has been confirmed by executives.

Steve Burton Not Thrilled About ‘Jason Morgan’ Recast

There has been a lot of talk in the last couple of months that the role of Jason Morgan will be recast in the near future. Recently fans have learned that Jason is not actually dead but he is frozen along with some Cassadines. Victor Cassadine has called upon one of Jason’s oldest and best friends, Robin Scorpio to help him help Helena and Stavros (who are in the same predicament as poor Jason). Robin agreed to help in order to save Jason.

With Robin off to God knows where with Victor Cassadine working on saving her friend, the fans are wondering what is going to happen with the role of Jason Morgan. Will he be recast? Will Steve Burton reprise the role? Last month Steve Burton announced on Twitter that he is staying put at The Young and the Restless.

It has been rumored that ex Y & R star, Billy Miller would the the first choice to take on the role of Jason. Although Steve Burton isn’t thrilled about some else filling his shoes as the iconic mob enforcer, he did make a statement regarding Billy Miller. Burton recently told Soaps in Depth, “When all that talk was going on, I said to myself ‘Billy would be perfect.’ It’s a character I played for a long time, and I have a huge emotional connection to him and the people there. It’d be weird to see, but they have to do what they have to do. I understand that.

Now that we have Steve’s blessing to recast Jason with actor Billy Miller, what do the fans think about this potential recast?

Jason Morgan… RECAST with a Y&R Star?

The latest and largest rumor circulating the soap opera scene is that the legendary character of Jason Morgan is set to be recast. Steve Burton left General Hospital after playing Jason Quartermaine (Morgan) for 21 years. After the actor left GH, he soon signed a contract with The Young and the Restless.

Fans have been missing their beloved Jason for a little over a year now. We have mourned his loss right alongside his wife Sam, his family, and friends. When Jason was shot and kicked off the docks at Pier 52 by Cesar Faison, it left it sort of open ended for the actor and/or character to return to the canvas. Now that Sam has been trying to move on with Dr. Silas Clay, would this be the time for Jason’s return? Sam had been talking to Patrick about his miracle in getting his wife Robin back, and she seems to be accepting after all this time, that Jason is not going to come back to her. She said to Patrick, “There’s only one miracle to go around.”

One source suggests that perhaps the role of Jason will be taken over by former Y&R actor Billy Miller. Miller has been recently replaced by David Tom in his role on The Young and the Restless. This leaves Billy Miller open to the role. Nothing has been confirmed and there is no story line in place as of yet.
