Anthony Geary’s Jackie Zeman tribute reminds us of why General Hospital has been going strong for 60 years. …It’s not every day actors jump aboard the ship of a new working endeavor and sail off into paradise. In reality, a well-written storyline can only take a show so far. But it’s the actors who light up the screen that make the magic happen. Arguably, much of General Hospital’s success can be attributed to it’s extraordinary cast.
In television, many times the chemistry between co-stars is nonexistent. And sometimes there is some underlying reason that a show, a storyline, or even the characters themselves become a flop. Most gratefully, that’s not the case when it comes to the actors who made General Hospital what it is today. Jackie Zeman leaves her legacy as having been part of what was quite possibly the most iconic daytime tv crew. Her group of co-stars and off-screen pals include Anthony Geary (Lucas Lorenzo Spencer), Genie Francis (Laura Webber Spencer Collins), Kristina Wagner and John J. York (Felicia and Mac Scorpio), among other veteran actors.
General Hospital News
Following the tragic news of Jackie Zeman’s passing, co-star and life-long friend Anthony Geary paid tribute to his former co-star and tv sibling. Geary’s statement was told to TV Line after news about Jackie broke out. He said, “I was fortunate enough to play Jackie Zeman’s big brother on General Hospital. In all those years, I never heard her utter one disparaging word about any actor, crew member or co-worker. In fact, I never heard Jackie express an unkind word about anyone, ever.
“In a highly competitive profession where ego, feelings and emotions are bread and butter, I’ve found this quality to be extremely rare. I expect it will be even more rare now that dear Jackie is gone,” he added. “She was quite simply one of the kindest, sweetest people I have ever known.”
That has got to be the most genuine thing to say about someone. Although we didn’t know her personally, it’s obvious that Jackie’s presence was a peaceful, lighthearted, and positive spirit to be around. Thanks to Geary, the fans have a better understanding of who Jaclyn Zeman was as a beloved mother, friend, actor, and more.
Over the years, Zeman and Geary became close friends. The love and respect they have for one another is crystal clear in Anthony’s statement. When reflecting on his friend’s life, he added, “I will miss her laugh, and the deep, soulful look in her eyes whenever she expressed the love and pride she had in her two lovely daughters. Tonight, l already miss her, and feel a powerful ache where Jackie’s smile used to be.”
We continue to keep Jackie’s loved ones in our thoughts and prayers. Please keep checking back for updates regarding GH’s tribute episode.
Sonya Eddy and Jackie Zeman …Although we have lost some incredible people over the years, losing these two General Hospital icons hits hard. Maybe because these extraordinary women were taken so suddenly. Additionally, their status with General Hospital added to the devastation.
Although Sonya Eddy was seldomly recurring, she was still an active cast member. Epiphany Johnson’s relevance to the storylines remained ever present, even up to her untimely death.
As for Jackie Zeman, Bobbie Spencer was still heavily involved in current storylines. In fact, GH co-star and friend to Zeman, Laura Wright, reflected on the last scene filmed with her on-screen mother. In a recent serious of tweets, Laura Wright (Carly Spencer Corinthos) shared her most recent scene filmed with Jackie. Sadly, Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) and Willow Tait’s (Katelyn MacMullen) wedding was the last time Wright shared a scene with the late Jackie Zeman.
Sonya Eddy and Jackie Zeman are remembered for their talent, hard work, and glowing spirit on General Hospital. They leave behind a proud legacy! Please continue to keep their families in your thoughts and prayers.
According to social media, an outpouring of emotional posts flood our feeds. As expected, Zeman’s GH family is grief stricken by their loss. The General Hospital community is taking the news quite hard as they try to make sense of it all. The news came as a shock to even Jackie’s closest co-stars. It’s scary to think how we just never know what’s next. Spread your love because you may not get another chance. ❤️

Previously, General Hospital Blog shared the news after 11pm on Wednesday, May 10th. We came across the tragic news while reading a post by General Hospital’s Official Facebook page. At that time, Jackie Zeman’s caused of death was left unmentioned.
Without a doubt, this great loss has shaken the entire daytime community and Jackie’s GH family. General Hospital’s Executive Producer, Frank Valentini took to social media to express his sadness and extend condolences on behalf of himself and the entire General Hospital family. Additionally, Jackie’s co-stars are flooding social media feeds with messages that are both heartfelt and heartbreaking.
GH star, Jackie Zeman’s Cause of Death
According to ABC News, Jackie Zeman’s family disclosed that their beloved Jackie battled cancer. Sadly, her fight against this disease was short and her death came as a shock to so many. Further details surrounding the unexpected death of the iconic actress have not yet been released.
On behalf of our @GeneralHospital family, I am heartbroken to announce the passing of our beloved @JackieZeman. Just like her character, the legendary Bobbie Spencer, she was a bright light and true professional that brought so much positive energy with her to work. pic.twitter.com/DxGdjYavab
Jaclyn Zeman leaves her legacy as the iconic Barbara Jean “Bobbie” Spencer, a role originated by Zeman. We will always remeber Jackie as Luke Spencer’s (Anthony Geary) sister, Carly Corinthos’s (Laura Wright) mother, Josslyn’s (Eden McCoy) grandmother, and so much more.
Please continue to pray for Jackie and her loved ones during this difficult time.
GH’s Jackie Zeman dead at 70. General Hospital star Jackie Zeman’s death shocks Americans. It is with great sadness and devastation that we inform you all of Jackie Zeman’s passing. The Emmy nominated actress was born on March 6th, 1953, and passed away at the age of 70.
Jackie Zeman Dead at 70
The iconic actress played the extraordinary mother and grandmother, sister, friend, Bobbie Spencer. According to General Hospital news reports, the shocking news was shared from GH’s official Facebook account. Tonight, we are in complete shock over the untimely death of this legend.
GH news and spoilers indicate that Jackie originated the role of Bobbie Spencer, creating a strong, yet loving persona. As Luke Spencer’s (Anthony Geary) sister, Bobbie knew a thing or two about adventure, excitement, and all around life. The once troubled young woman turned her life around and began to develop healthy relationships with her loved ones. Bobbie’s daughter Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) came into her life with a mission to destroy her mother. Then, after schemes, lies, and more betrayals, the mother and daughter managed to pick up he pieces of their broken relationship and grow closer. Today, Bobbie, Carly, and Carly’s daughter Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) portrayed three generations of Spencer women. The actress, a true icon.
General Hospital news reports have yet to disclose Zeman’s cause of death. At this time, it’s essential that we as fans and supporters keep Jackie, her family, friends, loved ones, and of course, her GH family, in our prayers.
Taggert warns Portia to stay out of it when it comes to Trina and Spencer! …Although Marcus Taggert (Réal Andrews) and Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr) split up long ago, they are both very involved parents. They’ve each remained heavily involved in their daughter Trina Robinson’s (Tabyana Ali) life. Simply put, they want the best for their daughter, and continue to worry about the choices she makes.
Over in Greenland, Trina and Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Alexander Chavez) have a happy reunion. Meanwhile, back home in Port Charles, Trina’s mother awaits her own reunion with Trina. Recent General Hospital recaps recall the sensitive nature of Portia and Trina’s current relationship. After having betrayed her family, Portia’s lies brought forth consequences. Prior to the tragic events on the Haunted Star, relationship with Trina showed signs of strain.
According to General Hospital news reports, Réal Andrews returns to GH as Trina’s father, Marcus Taggert. Despite Portia’s paternity drama, Taggert raised Trina and will always be her father. Although it’s possible that Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) is Trina’s biological father, that won’t stop Taggert from fulfilling his fatherly duties. Thankfully, both Taggert and Curtis love Trina and will do anything to keep her safe.
General Hospital spoilers and previews tease that Portia and Trina’s reunion is filled with gratitude for her safe return. However, GH rumors say that their relationship is still on thin ice. Despite almost losing each other, tension between the mother daughter duo could creep back into play if Portia says her piece about Spencer. General Hospital spoilers indicate that when it comes to Trina and Spencer, Taggert warns Portia to stay out of it. In addition, he reminds Portia that putting the blame on Spencer isn’t a great idea. If she wants to keep Trina close, telling her adult daughter who she can and cannot see isn’t going to fly with this obviously capable and independent young woman. Will Portia take Taggert’s advice? Or will she push her limits with Trina during this rocky period in their relationship?
It’s true that desperate times call for desperate measures. That’s why Laura Spencer Collins (Genie Francis) knew that she needed to act fast when word about Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaughnessy). came out. Going off of personal experience, Laura took the initiative and lead her group as they set out for Greenland. WSB took control of a serious mission. Thanks to Scotty Baldwin (Kin Shriner) involving the WSB, the situation on the Haunted Star blew up (pun intended). Now, Spencer Cassadine is missing and a body was found.
According to the latest General Hospital spoilers and previews, the WSB struck the Haunted Star with a drone… with civilians still aboard! Thankfully, the rest of the rescue crew is safe. Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali), baby Ace, Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison), Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati), and Laura, Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner), Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart), and Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) are safely on land. However, Spencer is not.
General Hospital spoilers reveal Laura and Trina are informed that a body was recovered in the wreckage. The Haunted Star was blown to bits by the WSB, leaving Spencer unaccounted for and a John/Jane Doe (for now) dead. At first, Trina and Laura fear the worst after having been told a body was found. As it turns out, the body isn’t Spencer’s but he remains missing.
At this time, no new General Hospital news reports have confirmed nor denied Chavez’s potential GH exit. If we had to guess, Trina and Spencer are in it for the long haul.
Willow and Sonny’s heart to heart could change things for the entire family. …Time is running out for Willow as she awaits Dr. Liesl Obrecht’s (Kathleen Gati) homecoming. Currently, Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) and the rest of the rescue mission’s status remains uncertain. As a result of the delayed transplant, Willow is slipping away. The young is woman awaits her fate in the hospital because she’s too weak to wait at home.
Meanwhile, the Corinthos and Quartermaine families sit vigil outside Willow Tait’s (Katelyn MacMullen) hospital room. If she can’t be home with family, then her family will be right there with her at GH as they anxiously await for a miracle. Thanks to Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaughnessy), Willow’s only change to survive lies within Liesl. But because of Victor and his insane plot to destroy the world, Dr. Obrecht may not make it home in time, or even at all.
According to recent General Hospital spoilers, Willow makes a special request. While surrounded by family and loved ones, Willow wants to see someone in particular. As GH previews indicate, Willow asks Michael to pass along a message. GH rumors hint that she needs to speak with her father-in-law. Despite what’s going on between Willow and Nina Sonny and Michael, Sonny and Nina continue to support Willow and Michael. Their presence at the hospital speaks volumes about their feelings for Willow. Both whom hold much love for Willow in their hearts. GH preview show that Michael follows through with her special request when Willow asks Michael to see Sonny. Willow and Sonny’s heart to heart could have the power to change things for their family.
Kristina Corinthos recast! The Iconic Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) is known for his controversial lifestyle. From mobster to devoted father, his work life Sonny runs the type of business that makes it hard to keep a low profile. Despite the shady business, money, and power, Sonny’s also known for being a devoted family man. His children looked up to him for the love and protection he provides. However, recent choices lead to a strained relationship with his son Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell).
Moreover, although Michael sees Sonny in a different light, his sister Kristina Corinthos (Lexi Ainsworth) is still the big brown eyed daddy’s girl she’s always been. Kristina may be the same girl she always was, but GH spoilers reveal that someone new portray Sonny’s daughter. Inevitably, Lexi and Maurice’s onscreen dynamic is impeccable. It’s obvious to most that they have the most lovable and believable father-daughter bond. Sadly, General Hospital news announced a recent casting change.
Lexi Ainsworth Confirms GH Exit
According to recent General Hospital comings and goings, the role of Kristina Corinthos was recast. GH news reports confirm Lexi joined GH in 2009. Over the years the role was recast with Lindsey Morgan, but soon after Morgan exited the daytime drama. Ainsworth returned as the face of Kristina and has remained recurring since. Currently, her last air date was on April 27th.
General Hospital news and spoilers confirm Emmy winner Kate Mansi (ex-Abigail Days) was cast as the new Kristina Corinthos Davis. Sources reveal Mansi has begun filming her scenes as she takes over for Ainsworth. Expect to see her onscreen GH debut around May 22nd.
I must admit, Lexi Ainsworth is one of my favorites. Her talent is real and genuine. In my opinion, Lexi is an underutilized talent. With that, we are excited for Lexi as she expands her talents and develops new avenues in her career. Although we are sad to see her leave after 10 years, we wish Lexi the best of luck and blessings.
Please make sure to check out Lexi Ainsworth on NCIS, May 22nd!
Are Michael and Willow out of time? Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) turned against his own father. All his life, Michael grew up with a loving and protective father who he looked up to. He knows that his father would do anything to keep him and his family safe as a child. Now, adulthood has proven to be the same. Still, the Port Charles mob boss protects his own no matter what. Somewhere down the line Michael forgot the countless times his father protected him from the dangers of organized crime.
General Hospital recaps recall, Michael uses Sonny’s business against him as his reason to cut ties. It’s no secret that Sonny Corinthos’s way of life puts those closest to him at risk. So obviously, Michael claims Sonny hurts everything he touches, therefore he and Willow must keep their distance.
Furthermore, there’s Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros). Even before her involvement with Sonny, Nina made Willow Tait’s (Katelyn MacMullen) life miserable. She treated Charlotte’s young teacher like a pebble in her shoe. Ironically, she became the last woman in the world she’d ever want as a mother. And then, Willow found out that Nina was actually her mother! Oh the irony!
According to General Hospital spoilers, Willow needs a miracle. As it turns out, Michael’s vengeance for Sonny has a what could do her in. Are Michael and Wow out of time?
Felicia calls Frisco to return! …Help is on the way! Since the 1970s, the WSB has embarked on countless spy missions, leading to many successful rescues. Sean Donnelly was head of the WSB, though each and every member was and is essential. Throughout the years, members of TheWorld SecurityBureau became a very close group, creating lifelong ties.
Currently, innocent lives are at stake. As Laura Spencer (Genie Francis) predicted, Port Charles spy legends have seen it all. And in all their mission, dealing with the Cassadine’s has been their greatest challenges. From Mikkos to Stavros, Helena to Victor, and much more, at this stage, The WSB’s experience speaks for itself. However, not all members are currently active as agents. Therefore, General Hospital spoilers indicate that Felicia Jones (Kristina Wagner) reaches out to a personal connection for help.
Felicia Calls Frisco Jones (Jack Wagner)??
Meanwhile, Anna Devane (Finola Hughes), Holly Sutton (Emma Samms), Robert Scorpio (Tristan Rogers), Laura Spencer, Mac Scorpio (John J. York) are a some among the spies working to take down Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaughnessy). Despite the legendary list of spies, it looks like additional help is necessary.
According to recent General Hospital previews, Felicia reaches out to a personal contact regarding the dire situation. Victor Cassadine has become completely unhinged. I mean, are we surprised? The Cassadine’s are known for their outlandish plots and wild ways to take over the world. Now, the brave agents set out to the Haunted Star in hopes of rescuing the innocent lives Victor has taken hostage. But, it looks like more help is needed. That’s why Felicia calls Frisco to return to his duties and help stop Victor before it’s too late. GH comings and goings updates haven’t made mention of Jack Wagner’s potential return. Please keep checking in for updates!
