General Hospital can be a revolving door for certain actors on the show. Throughout the years many have gone on to other things with the safety net of a welcomed return. That is, only if you’re a fan favorite. Because not everyone has the luxury of popping in and out. Often times an actor leaves and the role is recast.

Saying goodbye to a favorite character/actor can be tough. And that’s exactly how we all felt when Dr. Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati) lost her daughter. Unlike many other soap opera deaths, sadly, Dr. Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) is gone for good.

Moreover, Liesl didn’t stick around much after Britt died. She did what she had to do as Willow Tait Corinthos’s (Katelyn MacMullen) bone marrow donor and went on her way. At the hospital, Willow Corinthos (Katelyn MacMullen) remains in recovery after her bone marrow transplant. Thanks to her donor, Dr. Liesl Obrecht, Willow has a future.

GH recaps recall recent storylines involving Dr. Obrecht. Retrospectively, so much has happened in such a short amount of time. For a while, Liesl was front and center in multiple lead storylines. First, losing her daughter, Dr. Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud), hit the hardest. Then, she becomes a marrow donor, then is kidnapped before the surgery. The entire thing was a huge ordeal for Willow’s family.

Fast forward, and Dr. Obrecht hasn’t been seen since she donated her marrow to Willow. Due to her noticeable absence, GH fans question the star’s status with General Hospital. So, they took their inquiries to social media. According to General Hospital news and spoilers, GH fans asked if and when Liesl can be seen again. So, is Kathleen Gati leaving GH? Ironically, the thought that coming forward with the truth will set you free is virtuous and cleansing although damning to one’s reputation. Furthermore, admitting involvement in activity that caused a series of unfortunate events has its consequences. For Elizabeth, the guilt of it all weighs on her even though she’s free and clear where the law is concerned. However, just because she won’t experience legal ramifications doesn’t mean she’s off the hook.

Dr. Liesl Obrecht’s (Kathleen Gati) character has come a long way since she arrived on the scene as the most dreaded woman. What she had done to Robin Scorpio (Kimberly McCullough) as a way to get back at her mother, Anna Devane (Finola Hughes), was considerably unredeemable.

General Hospital recaps explain how Liesl had Robin captive while making it look as though she had died in a lab fire at GH. Robin’s mother Anna, her husband, Patrick Drake (Jason Thompson), and daugter Emma Drake (Brooklyn Silzer), along with Mac Scorpio (John J. Robert Scorpio (Tristan Rogers) and Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) have never been the best of friends, which is why the latest General Hospital previews might come as a shock to some when Robert is heard warning Maxie to “listen to him.”

Time is running out for Liesl as she scrambled to expose Peter before Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) makes a huge mistake and marries this deceitful man. But Dante might not be of much help to Liesl now that is mind is focused on other things.

GH rumors claim Dr. Obrecht won’t have as much control over Dante as she anticipated, making it more difficult to expose Peter and Anna before the big double wedding.
