14 years after General Hospital’s 1963 debut, the daytime drama introduced Leslie Charles to the cast. The role of Monica Quartermaine originated in 1976 and was played by Patsy Rahn. When she ended her run as General Hospital’s highly skilled cardiologist, that’s when Charleson stepped in. Ever since Leslie is known for her iconic role on the 60 year old Soap Opera.

Over the years Leslie has displayed her versatile talents as Monica Q. Alan, Tracy, Jason, etc. bring out various sides of this well-rounded character and actress. Additionally, a burned Thanksgiving dinner to facing and surviving breast cancer, Leslie has portrayed many different aspects of Monica. Today, the 79 year old General Hospital legend remains part of the GH cast and family. According to General Hospital news and spoilers, Monica Quartermaine was last seen in mid-December.

Obesssion might be the proper word to describe Nina’s (Cynthia Watros) interest in Carly Corinthos Spencer’s (Laura Wright) life. Her behavior as of late isn’t the only indicator that Nina Reeves is a few cards short of a deck.

Prior to Carly, Nina committed some unthinkable crimes, just to eventually become besties and even the wife of her victims. Why? The world may never know. But Nina definitely stole Sonny and Ava’s daughter Avery- out of Ava’s womb. And now she’s best friends with Ava and married to Sonny. Well, I guess that’s how they roll in Port Charles.

It all began when Nina lost her long lost daughter Nelle Benson (Chloe Lanier). She had searched for her child for years, just to learn that she was right under her nose. Furthermore, when she finally learned her daughter’s identity it was too late. Nelle was a psychopath and died because of her own actions. Still, rage rose up working Nina and sparked a certain vengeance in her soul. Of course, we all know that the finger was pointed right to Carly. As GH recaps highlight, Nina has married Carly’s husband and stolen her hotel. Also, she tipped off the SEC and sent Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) to Pentonville.

Could the ongoing feud between Nina and Carly simply fizzle to an end? Well, maybe. However, it seems that would only be likely if Nina had someone else’s life to focus on. According to General Hospital recaps, Dex Heller (Evan Hofer) came to Port Charles for all the wrong reasons. He was eager to work and had nothing to lose. Thats when Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) hired Dex to work undercover to access incriminating evidence against Sonny. Back then Michael was hell bent on making Sonny pay. Although Michael came to his senses and called off the mission, Dex continued to work for both Sonny and a Michael in secret. And this time, Carly and Michael kept Dex on payroll to protect Sonny from his the enemy.

Fast forward to present day, and Sonny knows exactly what his family has done. He found out that not only Carly and Michael, but Dex betrayed him too. But instead of normal protocol, Sonny handled Dex a bit differently.

We all know what Sonny does to a traitor- so why did he spare the young man who was originally hired to destroy him? Could it be that both Sonny and Dex developed a soft spot for one another? As a matter of fact, Dex admitted. Perhaps Sonny spared his young life because he feels the same. But business is business, right? Maybe not.

Just recently, the people of Port Charles gathered together to celebrate Spencer Cassadine’s life. Sadly, the young Cassadine Prince suffered a tragic accident and is presumed dead. Reportedly, GH Blog shared Nicholas Alexander Chavez’s GH status. According to recent GH news reports, Chavez has temporarily left his role as Spencer Cassadine.

As a youngster, 8 year old Nicolas Bechtel played Spencer Cassadine, the youngest Cassadine heir (at the time). He landed the role in 2013 as the son of Nikolas Cassadine (the late Tyler Christopher) and Courtney Matthews (Alicia Leigh Willis). According to GH news, Nicholas Bechtel left General Hospital in 2016 to focus on his role on Disney Channel’s Stuck In The Middle. But in 2021, Bechtel officially said goodbye to the role when GH recast Spencer.

It was then that the General Hospital Executives decided to take the role into a different direction. So Spencer was SORASed, bringing in an older actor for more mature material.

General Hospital’s fans are in it for the long haul- as if 60 years of dedication didn’t already prove that, fan support continues to flourish. According to recent General Hospital news reports, ABC President Craig Erwich discussed the future of General Hospital. Reportedly, Soap Hub had a personal chat with ABC Executive Craig Erwich regarding General Hospital.

We are ecstatic to share that Erwich spoke highly of the iconic drama series. “GH is absolutely a tremendous pride for us,” Erwich told the outlet. “The show’s been on for 60 years. That is a remarkable achievement. And the great thing about GENERAL HOSPITAL is that it’s on daily. It’s an opportunity for us to delight, entertain, and surprise people on a daily basis.
