Over the years, General Hospital has sourced many iconic television couples. Although many pairings spark interest, only the best of the best become one of daytime television’s super couples! When I think of what makes a successful TV pairing, it comes down to raw emotions and natural chemistry. According to General Hospital news, history tells Luke and Laura’s phenomenal love story. Naturally, the couple’s relationship development is made for entertainment and fantasy, and it meant to satisfy every moral expectation. But I’m between all the details was something bigger. After all it is television, and a Soap Opera to boot. That said, practically anything that’s permitted on daytime tv is fair game.

Now back to the cultural influence that soap operas, specially their romantic pairings, have on our society. On November 16th-17th 1981, Luke and Laura’s wedding became and remains the most watched television wedding in history. Since then, couples have come and gone, but a select few now follow in the Spencer’s footsteps.

Personally, my favorite General Hospital super couple is JaSam. Jason Morgan and Sam McCall met in 2003. Since then, no other couple has sucked me in the way that Steve Burton and Kelly Monaco swept me away into their relationship tornado. Coincidentally, General Hospital news and spoilers reveal that Kelly Monaco feels the same way as one of GH’s largest fan bases. But there’s only one man who Kelly Monaco has named as Sam’s “Endgame.” According to the latest GH news and spoilers, Monaco admits that Jason Morgan is the love of Sam’s life. Kelly’s interview with Soap Opera Digest sparked the debate.

While Sam had been with the cream of the crop, including Jasper Jacks (Ingo Rademacher) and even Jason’s boss, Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard), Monaco admits that Jason is Sam’s true love.

Then, in 1993 Rena Sofer landed the role of Lois Cerullo from Bensonhurst, on General Hospital. Will their trip to paradise end in disaster? Something tells me that Nina won’t return to PC as a new bride. After Brando Corbin’s (Johnny Wactor) untimely death, Sonny and Sasha reluctantly put their trust in Gladys. Although they were hesitant, Brando’s widow and his second cousin gave his mother the benefit of the doubt. But alas, Brando’s death didn’t change Greedy Gladys. According to General Hospital recaps, Nina gave Sonny the dirty details about Gladys and Sasha. Predictably, Sonny’s true self emerged out as he became defensive of Sasha.

Anna is going through a lot right now while she tries to uncover her mysterious threat. Every passing day adds more fear and more confusion despite the investigation. In fact, she is more confused than ever. While the arson attack indicates that Anna’s enemy is a professional, the other strange incidents don’t align. Plus, Valentin has given Anna false information regarding the security footage.

Anyways, that means that Sonny is quite busy protecting his loved ones while trying to get to the bottom of this. Moreover, he and his fiancé Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) are getting married!

Disturbed is an understatement for the effect Sasha Gilmore’s (Sofia Mattsson) storyline had on GH fans. According to GH news, fans have reportedly expressed that this storyline is too much and that they do not watch the scenes. Additionally, some threaten to step watching General Hosptial altogether if the torture doesn’t end ASAP for Sasha.

Personally, I find Sasha’s struggle with Gladys Corbin (Bonnie Burroughs) and Dr. Montague (Darin Toonder) riveting. While undoubtedly disturbing, Sofia is able to showcase her true acting talents as she depicts Sasha’s agony. General Hospital spoilers and rumors tease that the audience finally reaps the reward of sticking it out as the writers inflict more and more pain onto one young woman.

Despite her ill intentions, Carly and Bobbie Spencer (the late Jackie Zeman) eventually became very close. Fast forward to 2005, and Laura Wright joins General Hospital as the 4th actress to take on the role of Caroline Benson, aka Carly Corinthos. Laura’s portrayal hit home with GH fans, making the role one of the most popular in daytime tv. Carly and (ex-husband) Sonny Corinthos became household names as General Hospital’s main focus (while also focused on the hospital).
