General Hospital’s Maurice Benard
Maurice Benard is a three-time Daytime winner for his role as Sonny Corinthos on ABC’s General Hospital. Benard joined the Soap Opera in August of 1993. Since then Port Charles has never been the same. Organized crime has become an ongoing problem on the local and even Federal level.
The Port Charles Police Department has their work cut out for them when it comes to PC’s most prominent mob boss. When he first arrive in 1993, Sonny was law enforcement’s number one priority. Today, the fact remains that Sonny gives the authorities a run for the money. He’s been arrested and detained, and even put on trial. But the PCPD and the Feds have yet to stick the landing.
It’s finally here, a date we can jot down as being the date the cast and crew of General Hospital head back to the studio. California Governor’s executive order prohibited the prediction of film throughout this global pandemic. Due to Covid-19, Hollywood has been at a stand still. Genera Hospital news and spoilers reveals that the show we resume production on July 20th. In other soap opera news, it has been announced that NBC’s, Days Of Our Lives, will start filming again September 1st.l, as they are the only soap opera to have remaining episodes at this time.
Nelle Benson (Chloe Lanier) has become much more than a pest to those who live in Port Charles. Over the course of the time this young woman has been living in town, the residents have been able to see Nelle’s true colors after being fooled for so long.
Bobbie Spencer (Jackie Zeman) saw through Nelle almost immediately as Nelle was pulling the wool over Carly Corinthos’ (Laura Wright) eyes. Carly was blinded by Nelle saving her daughter, Josslyn Jacks’ (Eden McCoy) life with her kidney. Nelle has managed to infiltrate her way into the Corinthos family first through Joss and Carly, then Carly’s son Michael (Chad Duell), and husband, Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard). She has reeked havoc on all their lives, becoming a psychopathic villain.
Other than Carly’s stepfather, Frank Benson, Nelle’s true lineage remains unknown. General Hospital spoilers indicate we will be finding more and more about Nelle’s biological makeup, which would include close relatives like biological parents and possible siblings.
Recent General Hospital rumors bring up two villains that could be potential biological parents of Nelle. Sonny’s current threat, Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober) is cut throat and shows no mercy. He is willing to go to great lengths to ruin Sonny which seems very familiar to what Nelle is capable of.
Nelle exhibits similar behavior to a prominent female mobster from Port Charles history. Faith Rosco (Cynthia Preston) was a dangerous psychopath who went after Sonny Corinthos and his family. Very similar to Nelle, these two women seem to have a lot in common. Like Faith, Nelle isn’t afraid of Sonny and his family. She didn’t hesitate to manipulate Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) by using her daughter Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) as leverage. Nelle is Joss’s kidney donor, and with that, Nelle was able to gain Carly’s trust from the get go, however, Bobbie Spencer (Jackie Zeman) saw right through Nelle from the beginning. Nelle then worked her way into Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) good graces, manipulating bane seducing him. She then somehow managed to intertwine herself into Sonny’s life, driving a wedge between him and Carly.

Sam has always been a fighter since the beginning. The moment Jason knew Sam’s true strength was when watching her fight through the grief of losing her baby daughter, Lila. That is when the true connection between Jason and Sam began. There have been countless moments of love and admiration for one another, but not alongside devastation and sorrow. These two have made their way back to each other time and time again, and many fans believe there is no reason things should differ this time around.
Sam is having a tough go, as she has been ordered to stay away from her true love while she is on parole for a crime she never even committed. All while Jason is trying to be responsible and told Sam he cannot see her anymore, not now, not until the time is right. Sam has always put her love for Jason first, and it never mattered what the consequences were. Some fault her for that, saying she is selfish and impatient. Sam just fights for what she loves.
The way Sam sees it, Jason has rejected her. Although that has never been Jason’s intentions, Sam believes Jason has abandoned her but that couldn’t be further from the truth.

He and Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) had a tender moment when discussing Dev’s heritage and traditions. Genera Hospital rumors hint that the geographic connection of Dev’s background makes perfect sense when claiming Dev is the Grandson of The Balkan. Genera Hospital news and spoilers pointed out Maurice Benard’s take on having Vanessa Marcil return to the role of Brenda Barrett. In a recent article by GH Blog, it was revealed that Maurice thinks bringing Vanessa back is a “no brained.” That being said, as Dev’s character develops, and we learn more about his past, General Hospital rumors hint that Brenda will return to reunite with her son- Dev.

Nelle blackmailed Julian into marrying her, because somehow in her warped mind, she believes being married to Julian will boost her chances of winning custody of Wiley over her ex, Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) and his new wife, Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen). However, that psychopath just so happens to be trying to take away the grandchild of mobster, a personal enemy to Julian, Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Bernard). General Hospital spoilers reveal Julian struck a nerve with Sonny by marrying Nelle, and Sonny won’t just let this slide. In General Hospital previews for the upcoming episode, Sonny is shown talking to Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) and Julian in the courtroom. Sonny says, “You need to do what needs to be done.” This definitely sounds like an order. But to whom? An unexpected (to most) wedding turned out to be a beautiful surprise when Michael Corinthos Jr. (Chad Duell) and Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen) said their vows and are now husband and wife.

Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) met his distant cousin for the first time after Brando Corbin (Johnny Wactor) showed up out of nowhere during an attack from enemy Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober). Brando was thought to have been dead, as his mother Gladys Corbin (Bonnie Burroughs) told Sonny and his family that her son had passed away.
Brando seemed to have shown up at the right place at the right time, placing himself directly into the crossfire, and saving Sonny’s wife, Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright). After some questions, it was revealed that Brando is Gladys’ son and he is far from deceased. Sonny and Jason had their suspicions about Brando and his intentions, but shortly after talking with him, Sonny let his guard down and trusts Brando isn’t working for Cyrus or anyone else that would be against Sonny. Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) is always a little more cautious when it comes to trusting people. Jason still has his reservations about Brando but at this time, it’s not enough to do anything about it. General Hospital rumors suggest that Brando may have ulterior motives since Jason is typically right about people when his instincts tell him there is something off.
So far Brando has shown to be a stand up and trustworthy guy. However, Sonny may not see it that way after he learns of Brando and Molly’s (Haley Pullos) one night stand. General Hospital spoilers indicate Sonny will somehow learn that the woman Brando was talking about when Sonny stopped in to check on how he was doing at the garage was Molly, and that they ultimately had a one night stand. Since Molly is Sonny’s niece, he will find reason to justify his involvement when he confronts Brando about the situation.
