General Hospital’s Maurice Benard
Maurice Benard is a three-time Daytime winner for his role as Sonny Corinthos on ABC’s General Hospital. Benard joined the Soap Opera in August of 1993. Since then Port Charles has never been the same. Organized crime has become an ongoing problem on the local and even Federal level.
The Port Charles Police Department has their work cut out for them when it comes to PC’s most prominent mob boss. When he first arrive in 1993, Sonny was law enforcement’s number one priority. Today, the fact remains that Sonny gives the authorities a run for the money. He’s been arrested and detained, and even put on trial. But the PCPD and the Feds have yet to stick the landing.
Brad Cooper (Parry Shen) has never been one to be known for his honesty, even when he has been caught red handed in a despicable act, he never really owns up to his actions and blames anyone you who crosses his path.
From the very beginning, Julian Jerome (William DeVry) found out that his son Lucas Jones’ (Ryan Carnes) adoptive son had suddenly passed away and Brad couldn’t bring himself to tell Lucas of the tragedy. Brad didn’t tell Julian the whole truth, so instead, he told Julian that this is some random woman’s baby that he was passing off as Wiley. Julian believed him but then later found out the baby actually belongs to Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) and Nelle Benson (Chloe Lanier). Julian has been keeping this secret from his own son for a long time. It would not serve Julian well if Brad were to suddenly get a burst of honesty and divulge the entire truth to Lucas and the rest of the family.
General Hospital spoilers hint that Brad will end up bringing Julian down with him, just because that’s Brad’s style. Brad has never been able to take sole blame for his actions and who says this time will be any different? Lucas will be devastated to learn his own father betrayed him as well. Julian and Brad will have to deal with the fallout of their actions- which includes facing baby Jonah’s Grandfather, Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard).
There is a lot of drama and danger surrounding the Corinthos family as Sonny (Maurice Benard) and Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) are under attack from a new enemy. A full-on mob war has broken out and the families to those involved are at risk. That includes close friends and even though posing as family. We all know Dev Cerci (Ashton Arbab) is not really Sonny’s cousin but his actual cousin, Gladys Corbin (Bonnie Burroughs) is pretending to be Dev’s Grandmother in order to keep Dev in the country and pose as a US citizen. Now that the war is in full effect, Gladys’ son who was presumed dead, has turned out to be alive and saved Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) from the gunfire. Brando (Johnny Wactor), Gladys’ son, was at the right place at the right time to save Carly. After a discussion with the Corinthos family, Brando agreed to pose as Dev’s father to keep their story going. General Hospital spoilers reveal talk of boarding school for Dev Cerci. They discussed the situation and the danger that faces those close to Sonny. Dev actually volunteered to be sent off to boarding school so he wouldn’t be in the way, causing Sonny to have to protect Dev’s identify feelings the enemy. Is Ashton Arbab leaving General Hospital? It’s unclear if Arbab is on his way out based on the current storyline. It’s highly possible for the actor to become recurring, seeing his on-screen presence less often. Dev may not end up going to boarding school at all, and it’s possible the actor will stay put. General Hospital Blog will keep fans updated on the status of Ashton Arbab’s role on GH.
The drama and excitement is intensified this week as a major story line is about to hit a huge milestone. General Hospital spoilers reveal this week on General Hospital, the truth about baby Wiley (aka Jonah), will be revealed.
General Hospital spoilers state Lucas Jones (Ryan Carnes) will remember every word of Brad Cooper’s (Parry Shen) confession regarding baby Wiley. Just before the car accident which put Lucas in a coma for months, Brad revealed his secret to Lucas, telling him how their baby they adopted from Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen) had died suddenly. He told Lucas the baby they have been loving and caring for is actual Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) and Nelle Benson’s (Chloe Lanier) son.
General Hospital spoilers have been hinting Nelle will kidnap Wiley before Brad and Lucas are able to make their way to Portland, Oregon with the baby. Will Nelle get away clean before Lucas remembers Brad’s confession? General Hospital rumors suggest Nelle will make a clean break but she won’t be safe for long. Now that Lucas knows the truth, soon, Michael will know too. The Corinthos family will not let Nelle get far with their Gradnchild.
Who would be best to really let Nelle have it? Willow thinks Wiley is her biological son, she will be absolutely heartbroken to learn her child is actually the one that died. Michael will be furious no doubt, but I think Nelle has a much bigger problems to watch out for… Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) have good reason to want Nelle raked over the coals. As the Grandparents of Wiley aka Jonah, Sonny and Carly will not let Nelle go unpunished for lying and telling them the baby had died, all while giving him to a local family, keeping the baby right under their noses.
Nelle’s secret is about to explode, who should take her on?
The new bad guy in town, Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober) is as bad as they come. Although his first attempt at taking Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) down didn’t go as planned, the botched attempts on Sonny and his family will only make Cyrus more determined to make sure he does what he can to take Sonny out.
General Hospital spoilers reveal, in a recent interview with Digital Journal, actor Jeff Kober discloses upcoming information regarding what’s happening in Port Charles. When asked about his new role, Kober stated, “The character is interesting. Things are happening. Port Charles is a hotbed of change. Things are going to change.”
What does Kober mean by, “Things are going to change.”? Currently Sonny Corinthos and Jason Morgan run the town of Port Charles. General Hospital rumors suggest Cyrus is about to give Sonny and Jason a run for their money. According to new General Hospital spoilers, Cyrus is about to strike again. Will Sonny be ready this time?
Sonny’s (Maurice Benard) cousin Gladys Corbin (Bonnie Burroughs) came to Port Charles claiming to simply want to visit family, see how Mike (Max Gail) is doing and so on. She gave Sonny a sob story about how she misses her late son, Brando (Johnny Wactor). All the while, General Hospital spoilers have been hinting that Gladys has ulterior motives. She is currently taking money from Sonny in an agreement that she pretends to be Dev Cerci’s (Ashton Arbab) Grandmother while he stays with the Corinthos family.
In recent General Hospital spoilers, it has been revealed that Brando, Gladys Corbin’s son, is actually alive and showed up in the middle of the shoot out. Brando is the gunman who saved Carly from the shots fired but things may not be what they seem. Jordan Ashford (Briana Nicole Henry) may already be onto Brando, after she asked him if he is working for Sonny or the enemy. He saved Carly (Laura Wright) no doubt, but he could have only done that to try and play Sonny and make them think he is on their side.
Brando could definitely be working for the enemy, especially since we were led to believe he was dead, but there is possibly a bigger picture. General Hospital spoilers indicate he could actually be one of the good guys. It’s quite possible Brando had to fake his death in order to stay incognito, while working on taking down Sonny’s enemies from the inside.
New General Hospital rumors claim Brando and Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) may know one another beyond being relatives. GH rumors that Brando could also work for the WSB, and has ties with Dante from there.
It remains to be seen which side Brando is on, but as the mob story unfolds, it’ll become very clear where he stands.
Will Brando stand with Sonny and the Corinthos clan or is he someone they need to fear?
Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) is a lot like his Father Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) in many ways. He is a natural protector, he’s loyal to the ones he loves and who love him in return, and he is selfless. He makes sacrifices for the well being of others. General Hospital spoilers revealed earlier this week that Michael does just that when it comes to his girlfriend Sasha (Sofia Mattsson). Michael knows this is just the beginning when it comes to the trouble Sonny, Jason (Steve Burton), and the entire Corinthos/Morgan families will be facing. Michael has been around his father’s business long enough to know when he needs to do to keep the ones he loves safe. This is what prompted Michael to break up with Sasha and push her away.
It seems Michael is deep into the mob life, leaving little room to worry about Quartermaine troubles such as the family business, ELQ. General Hospital spoilers suggest that Michael finally makes a life changing decision. GH spoilers hint he will finally hang up the legit business man act and join his father and Jason working with the mob.
Do you think Michael is due for a career change? Many GH fans have commented on the upcoming mob story, expressing excitement for the drama and action. Michael may need to spice up his drab life a little bit and get to where the real action takes place, not in a board room, but in the mob with his father!
February Sweeps is quickly approaching and General Hospital is wasting no time building up the drama, anticipating the final blow. General Hospital spoilers reveal this extended promo showing all that is ahead.
Nelle Benson (Chloe Lanier) has weaseled her way into convincing Brad Cooper (Parry Shen) to let her move in with him in order for her to be closer to her biological son, Wiley aka Jonah Corinthos (Erik and Theo Olson). Nelle is convinced she has rights to some form of ELQ, Quartermaine fortune, and told Brad she will leave once that comes through. Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen), Detective Chase (Josh Swickard), Sasha Gilmore (Sofia Mattsson), and Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell), are concerned about Wiley. They have been observing Brad and his parenting (or lack thereof) skills and are worried that Wiley is not receiving the best possible care when Brad’s husband Lucas Jones (Ryan Carnes) is in a coma. General Hospital spoilers have revealed a preview for Monday, January 20th, showing the four concerned friends discussing the issue as Michael’s mom Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) walks in. Carly has had it with Nelle and she isn’t going to let Nelle get away with getting closer to Wiley. Carly knows how to take charge and that’s exactly what she’s going to do. On Monday, GH viewers will hear Carly yell, “Over my dead body!” in regard to Nelle and baby Wiley. General Hospital spoilers have indicated Brad will be cornered by Michael and friends, with Carly leading the way. Based on their observation of Brad as a parent, GH rumors claim that Brad will be proven unfit and the baby will be in the custody of his Godfather (also biological Father), Michael. Watch Carly spring into action, check out the preview below.
There has been a lot of talk lately about Detective Marcus Taggert (Real Andrews) and his possible connection with Port Charles newcomer, Trina Robinson (Sydney Makayla).
Previously, General Hospital spoilers indicated a connection between Taggert and Trina, as GH rumors claim Trina is the daughter of Taggert’s sister, Gia Campbell (Marisa Ramirez) and Nikolas Cassadine (Marcus Coloma).
General Hospital news confirmed that Andrews is returning to General Hospital as one of Sonny Corinthos’ (Maurice Benard) and Jason Morgan’s (Steve Burton) many enemies. Real Andrews played the role of Detective Taggert from 1998-2003 and will return on Friday, January 17th 2020.
Sonny’s father Mike Corbin (Max Gail) has been suffering with Alzheimer’s disease and recently has really taken a turn for the worst. For a while Mike’s son Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and daughter-in-law Carly (Laura Wright) were able to handle his care by themselves, but after a few recent incidents they realized they didn’t have what it takes professionally to be able to give Mike the care he really needs. Sonny’s father is now living in a facility called Turning Woods and getting professional medical care for his disease.
Mike isn’t the only Port Charles resident who is currently receiving medical care at Turning Woods. Since the car crash which left Lucas Jones (Ryan Carnes) in a coma, he has been transferred to Turning Woods where he remains in a coma. Both Mike and Lucas are getting the treatment they need.
Things are about to take an unexpected turn in the Wiley Cooper Jones (Erik and Theo Olson) baby swap saga as General Hospital spoilers reveal the secret about baby Wiley aka Jonah Corinthos is about to be let out of the bag. General Hospital spoilers indicate that Brad Cooper’s (Parry Shen) loose lips will ultimately get him into trouble as he can’t keep talking about what he has done. Although Lucas remains in a coma, Brad talks to him at his bedside. He has already revealed Wiley’s true identity as Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) and Nelle Benson’s (Chloe Lanier) son, Jonah. It’s still uncertain whether or not Lucas is able to absorb this information in his current state and if he is hearing what Brad is saying, that doesn’t mean he will remember the information if and when he awakens. Brad may think his secret is safe as he reveals Wiley’s true indenity over and over again to his comatose husband, however that’s most like not the case. Mike has been wandering the halls of Turning Woods which opens up the opportunity for him to overhear Brad’s one sided conversation with Lucas.
General Hospital spoilers hint that Mike will be walking the halls of the medical facility when he overhears Brad talking to Lucas about Wiley and how he and Nelle have been lying to everyone. A while back Mike saw the baby and mentioned he looked like Carly. The family was quick to remind Mike that Michael’s baby Jonah had died, therefore there wouldn’t be a reason the baby would look like any family member. Looking back, that was most likely a way for the writers to hint Mike may be the one to ultimately uncover the truth about his great grandson. However things will not go as smoothly as it sounds. Since Mike suffers from Alzheimer’s disease, GH spoilers indicate Mike will tell Sonny what he has heard but no one believes him due to his current mental state.
This story seems to be leading right up to February Sweeps which would make for a great time to let the cat out of the bag and not be drawn out any longer. Will Sonny be the only one who has faith that his father Mike is right about this? Sonny will want to get to the bottom of this, after all Jonah is his grandson. Nelle will definitely have something to fear once Sonny figures out what she has done.
