First, I want to start off by asking that we all keep John J. York, aka our beloved Mac Scorpio in our prayers and healing thoughts. General Hospital’s John J. York has a smile that could brighten anyone’s day. His positive outlook and upbeat personality is a gift to himself as well as those who know and follow him. Additionally, York exhibits great strength as he shares with the world of his current medical condition.

Previously, GH Blog shared the news that John J. York, also known as GH’s Mac Scorpio, announced that he’d be taking a hiatus from the ABC daytime drama. Then, shortly after he gave fans something to think about, York returned to social media for the details. That’s when the iconic actor revealed that he was told he has 3-5 years to live. According to General Hospital news and spoilers, his diagnosis lead to a bone marrow search with Be A Match.

Fast forward and York has come forward with a health update. Reportedly, the stem cell transplant is a 100 day process. According to General Hospital news reports, York tells TV Insider the details of what he faces in the coming weeks. He shares, “The first week is an 8-day process of heavy-duty chemo, where I’ll probably lose my hair, and that’s OK,” he told the outlet. “And, you know, there’s just all kinds of issues. I could, I could pass away. I mean, maybe not from the chemo, but when the transplant starts. So after the eight days of these different chemo treatments that they’re doing, they’re basically wiping my body of what I’ve been living with in terms of my blood and DNA and all this stuff for my entire life. They’re wiping that clean and then they’re gonna put new stuff in me from the donor. And that’s going to be the new me.”

John J York Takes His Stem Cell Treatment One Day At A Time

Treatment takes place everyday unless the doctors see positive results from early on. He admits, “that would be wonderful. Then they may say, ‘You don’t have to come in tomorrow, come in the next day. And then we’ll test after that.’ That goes on for 100 days, and I would say the first probably 20 days [after the transplant] are the crucial days,” is what York told news outlet TV Insider.

The 22 year GH actor continued to describe his upcoming challenges with a positive and bright outlook. However, the long, demanding process can take its toll, but York displays the strength to stay the course. Unfortunately, the treatment doesn’t cease after the 100 days. Instead, he faces more testing. Those tests include biopsy and bone marrow aspiration. “I thought I was done doing bone marrow biopsies, but I still have like five bone marrow biopsies out there. Those are just not my favorite things in the world to do,” the actor admitted. For now, he’s taking things “one day at a time.”

Oh no, he’s not the man Olivia knows and loves. However, it didn’t take too long before she started to come around. GH recaps recall the day in the recording studio with Eddie Maine, Olivia, and little Leo (Easton Rocket Sweda). That’s when things began to change for Olivia, and she started to appreciate Eddie.

There’s no doubt that Ned/Eddie’s conversation with his ex-wife, Lois Cerullo (Rena Sofer) influenced him and his curiosity. Thats when Eddie decided to search within himself for answers.

Previously, Tracy warned Olivia about Lois. She flat out stated that Ned’s ex wife and Olivia’s best friend can’t be trusted. Although the reasons differ from her original thoughts, Tracy finds reason to blame Lois. Olivia wasn’t worried about Lois coming between her and Ned/Eddie in the aspect that Tracy implied. But, perhaps Tracy was right for another reason.

However, everything happened for a reason and GH rumors claim there’s a reason Spencer feels so attached to Ace. Yes, they are “brothers,” but rumor has it that it’s more than that.

Obviously, Spencer is upset because he doesn’t want Esme and Ace to move out. As much as he says it’s because of Ace, how much of his feelings include Esme? Maybe more than we think.

The average everyday viewer became concerned about what this all means for their favorite shows. Then, the actor’s followed suit! Leading to the Actor’s strike.

People started asking questions about the strike and the potential impact. The strike impacts writers and their corresponding applications. For instance, General Hospital and other network Soap Operas film differently than other genres. Daytime dramas are fast-paced and high energy. Therefore, their aggressive pace sets Soap Operas weeks ahead of airing. But even with the grace period, General Hospital’s writers material ran out and that’s when alternative writer’s stepped in.

After 6 long months, General Hospital news reports confirmed that The Writer’s Strike is officially over. Devastation and loss seem to have come in surplus lately as the General Hospital community suffers great heartache. From Sonya Eddy to Jackie Zeman, Billy Miller to Tyler Christopher- and more in between, it’s undoubtedly been a hard year.

According to General Hospital news reports, sadness continues to loom over the GH community. Just 6 short days after Tyler Christopher’s death, another loss hits close to home. For General Hospital star Eden McCoy, everyone else’s “close to home,” is her actual home. Sadly, Eden McCoy mourns her mother’s death.

GH news and spoilers reveal that Eden became very vulnerable in her public, emotional message. The young star shared the news via Instagram, which she referred to as, “the most impersonal space.” Her post contains a picture of her mother, along with another picture consisting of Eden and her parents.

Eden’s touching message not only displays her pure love for her mom, but she also puts things into perspective. I can somewhat relate to Eden as she grieves for her mother. When I was pregnant with my first child, my mom passed away suddenly. As it turns it, she had Acute Myeloid Leukemia, and she died within two days of going to the ER. Although not all situations are the same, the pain of losing a mother is uniform. According to Eden’s post, her mom suffered a two and half year battle with cancer. No matter how you look at it, losing a mother hits different regardless of how it happened.
