Last week, General Hospital Blog shared John J. York’s message to fans regarding his upcoming GH exit. The soap vet and GH icon took to Twitter to give fans a heads up about his changing status with the 60 year old daytime drama. Unfortunately, he mentioned he’ll be taking a hiatus from his role as Mac Scorpio.

As promised, John shared an update with fans. According to the latest General Hospital news reports, York reveals that a recent diagnosis lead to his GH exit. But despite the news, he assures fans that he will be back. In a shocking revelation, John J. York reveal he’s in need of a bone marrow donation. In the video below, York explains his diagnosis in detail while also addressing his role on ABC’s General Hospital.
York explains, “And here it is. So, last December, of ’22, I was diagnosed with myelodysplastic syndromes, or MDS, and multiple smoldering myeloma, two blood and bone marrow disorders.”
