Things are heating up all around Port Charles. As Sonny (Maurice Benard) tries to hang on for dear life, Carly (Laura Wright) clings on to hope and turns to prayer, Michael (Chad Duell) lives up to the Corinthos name and steps up to the plate, Morgan (Bryan Craig) turns to rage and wants revenge, and Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst) is ready to come clean to Jake (Billy Miller).
The secret she is keeping is weighing on Liz’s conscience, and she can’t handle the guilt she feels from keeping Jake from knowing his true identity- and from keeping Jason Morgan from his wife, Sam (Kelly Monaco), and their son, Danny.
At this point, Elizabeth is ready to tell Jake the truth, that she has been lying to him for months, and that he is actually Jason Morgan. However, now she is stuck between a rock in a hard place. While almost giving into her guilt and telling Jason the truth, she has a heavy heart because her son Jake, whom was presumed dead, has finally returned to her, and he needs a father in his life.
It looks as though Liz wants to tell Jason the truth, but she also wants what is best for her son. Will Elizabeth put her selfish reasons aside and tell Jake he is actually Jason Morgan? General Hospital rumors claim that is not how this story will play out. General Hospital spoilers have revealed that Laura (Genie Francis) will be returning to Port Charles very soon and that she will play a large role in the Jason Morgan reveal.
Let us know what you think. Will little Jake hold Elizabeth back from coming clean about Jason Morgan?
It has been a whirlwind around the recent announcement that General Hospital has replaced it’s Head Writer, Ron Carlivati, with former GH writers, Jean Passanante and Shelly Altman. Fans have been up and down in regard to this news, some reluctant to embrace change, and others very excited to see what fresh writing will bring for their favorite General Hospital Characters.
According to the latest addition of Soap Opera Digest, Jean Passanante and Shelly Altman reveal their plans for Genie Francis’ return to General Hospital.
General Hospital Blog previously reported that Genie Francis will be back to the canvas this coming Fall. Francis mentioned that she is hopeful for her character Laura, that there will be much in store for her when she returns to Port Charles.
In addition, the Soap Opera Digest issue contains information regarding the plans of the new writers. General Hospital spoilers reveal that the two co-writers plan on bringing more romance to the show, reintoroducing the hospital as well as the mob stories to the canvas.
In a statement that can be found in SOD, Passanante says, “There is nothing more passionate then a General Hospital fan,” and Altman adds, “We hope that they will invest their commitment in the show and give us a chance, because I think they will be rewarded. We are excited to be here; we are writers and fans.”
One of the most controversial fan base wars has just taken the drama to an entirely new level. The Liason vs. JaSam wars date back to practically a decade, and it doesn’t look like there will be an end to all the chaos any time soon. General Hospital fans have been waiting for what seems like forever for the big Jason Morgan reveal. Ever since Billy Miller took over the role of Jason Morgan, and stepped into Steve Burton’s shoes, true Jason and Sam fans have been waiting (im)patiently for their great love to be reunited. All the while, Elizabeth and Jason fans have been in their glory during the current story line involving the love between Jake Doe (Jason) and Liz.
We all know that Elizabeth and Nikolas are keeping an enormous secret from the rest of Port Charles. Aside from Laura and Lucky Spencer, they have told no one of Jake’s true identity. Helena knows that Jake is really Jason because she is the reason Jason “died” in the first place. Hayden Barnes is well aware of Jake’s true identity, but since she is having trouble with her memory after waking up from a coma, the threat she poses has been put on the back burner. Nikolas however, isn’t taking any chances, and he has proposed to Hayden, that she live at Wyndemere.
This story line just crossed a new level of drama, as Jake asked Elizabeth to marry him. Unsure of what to do, Elizabeth turned to God for a sign. Although she knows Jake really is married to Sam, and Sam walked into the chapel as Liz was asking for a sign from above, she still, despite everything she knows about Jake and his loved ones, told him yes to marriage.
In General Hospital spoilers and news, recently GH’s Head Writer, Ron Carlivati was let go and replaced by two co-writers, Jean Passanante and Shelly Altman. Currently, the show is still airing episodes written by Carlivati, but soon enough, that will all change. It goes without saying that this wedding will ultimately end in disaster, if Liz and Jake even make it to the altar. General Hospital rumors have been speculating, that the big Jason reveal is going to happen sooner rather than later. The current changes with the GH writing team gives fans hope that this story will be moving along more quickly now, and that Jake will soon find out he is Jason Morgan. More importantly, Sam and Jason will be reunited as husband and wife. For the time being, Liason fans are enjoying the ride, however, Jason and Sam will inevitably be reunited. That will make for one disastrous wedding indeed.
How will it all go down? Give us your thoughts and theories revolving around Liz and Jake’s demise, in preparation for the JaSam reunion. Will they make it down the aisle before Sam finds out that Jason is alive, and Elizabeth is marrying her husband and the father of her son, Danny?
The ABC soap vet and All My Children alum, Rebecca Budig, joined the cast of General Hospital back in March of this year. She was brought on as her character was part of the Jason Morgan/Jake Doe story line. As of right now, in Port Charles, Hayden Barnes, played by Budig, holds the key to Jason’s true identity.
Sure, other people are aware that Jake Doe (Billy Miller) is actually Jason. Those people include, Nikolas Cassadine (Tyler Christopher), Elizabeth Webber (Rebecca Herbst), Lucky Spencer (Jonathan Jackson), and Laura Spencer (Genie Francis). Well since Nikolas is the original person to harbor this secret and let Liz in on it because she is in love with Jake/Jason, and since Nik is now acting like a full blown Cassadine, there’s no chance of him or Liz coming clean. Nikolas told Lucky about this so that Lucky could have peace of mind if he decided to leave town. Knowing that Jason Morgan was caring for his children, Lucky felt it was right for him to leave and let Liz be happy. Therefore, Lucky has skipped town, and won’t be back to tell for the foreseeable future. Laura Spencer overheard a conversation Nikolas was having that she obviously was never meant to hear. Although she doesn’t agree with what Nikolas and Liz are doing, she feels that it isn’t her place to reveal the truth and expose their lies.
This leaves Hayden Barnes. Hayden is the woman that Nikolas out a hit out on in order to keep her quiet. Recently, Patrick has been receiving reports of her condition, that she is waking up.
General Hospital spoilers have revealed that Rebecca Budig has already started taping for GH, and her character will return this Fall. According to Soap Opera Digest, Budig has signed a contract with General Hospital and is here to stay… well at least she’s here until her contract is up.
General Hospital Blog will keep fans updated on any news related to Rebecca’s status with GH.

Luke and Laura are legends, but they would be nothing without the fire and chemistry between the two people who have portrayed them for over 3 decades. Tony Geary and Genie Francis came together unexpectedly to make television magic.
In an interview with Paolo Presta for his show, A Spoonful of Paolo, General Hospital’s Anthony Geary (Lucas Lorenzo Spencer), touches on what it was like to work with certain stars over the years. “Her husky voice drove me crazy. I thought she was hot stuff.” That is a statement Geary made about Demi Moore, who played Jackie Templeton on GH. He referred to another star, Roseanne Barr as, “A tough lady,” and went on to tell Paolo that he asked her to marry him when they met.
What Tony Geary said about his long time friend and co-star Genie Francis will melt your heart. His statement regarding Genie, and his relationship with her put their entire existence ans Luke and Laura into perspective. Geary tells Paolo, “Her talent was spectacular, and is spectacular. Her vulnerability, her ability to use her emotional range, is unsurpassed. It’s hard to even go there because there’s so much…” As if THAT wasn’t amazing enough, Geary proceeded to say, “Our artistic souls met somewhere in outer space. In the early days, I felt very protective of her, which I think fed the relationship of Luke and Laura.”
It’s apparent that Tony Geary and Genie Francis have an undeniable chemistry and bond that compares to nothing else we have seen on television. Their off screen admiration for one another shaped the dynamic of their characters, Luke and Laura.
As Anthony Geary prepares to leave General Hospital after 37 years, he told Paolo Presta that it will be the people he will miss the most.
Luke and Laura’s adventure has barely just begun… They have to rescue Luke’s sons, Ethan Lovett and Lucky Spencer, but that doesn’t look like it will be the end of their quest. Who is behind all this drama anyway? What person in General Hospital history would want both Luke and Laura on a wild goose chase, making them suffer in fear for their children?
Luke, Laura, Lucky, and Ethan, get closer to the truth as the Summer progresses.
Remember, Anthony Geary’s last air date as Luke Spencer is July 27h. That being said, we would think it is safe to assume that this mystery will be solved by that date.
Who do you think has taken Ethan and Lucky? Could Helena be behind all that is evil when it comes to the Spencer family?
General Hospital co-stars and fans of Tony Geary have been preparing for his big farewell from General Hospital, as he is retiring from the show. His character, Luke Spencer is involved in his last adventure with his great love, Laura (Genie Francis). Everyone is tangled up in this story line as Luke and Laura set out to save their son Lucky (Jonathan Jackson). Jennifer Smith (Holly Gagnier) was contacted to lure Luke and Laura, and mke them aware that Lucky has been captured. We will soon be seeing Holly Sutton (Emma Samms) and Ethan Lovett (Nathan Parsons) involved. Lulu (Emme Rylan) is currently in Port Charles awaiting any information on her brother. Tracy (Jane Elliot) was left broken hearted, in order for Luke to get his son back before it’s too late.
This story will mark Tony Geary’s last air date on General Hospital. That date has now been revealed as July 27th, 2015.
We have less than one month left with the iconic character Luke, and legendary actor Tony Geary on our favorite soap. Geary is excited to begin a new chapter in his life, and we at General Hospital Blog will miss him and wish him all the best.
Don’t miss a beat of this sizzling how drama this Summer on General Hospital!
General Hospital’s Tony Geary and EP Frank Valentini- Geary’s Last Day On Set Of GH
Where has 37 years gone? After almost 4 decades, Tony Geary tapes last scenes, and says goodbye to General Hospital, and his role as Luke Spencer. Here he waves to the camera with Frank Valentini by his side.
Sadly, all knew this day was coming. However, it has really crept up on us all rather quickly. A few months back, General Hospital Blog shared the news that Tony Geary had announced his retirement. After a 37 year run, Geary goes his own way from GH and his role as Luke.
Geary’s portrayal of Luke Spencer has had a significant impact to the show’s “legendary” status to say the least. Alone, Geary took the audience by storm, and alongside co-star Genie Francis, they made history as the infamous Luke and Laura- with a wedding America will never forget. Reportedly, Tony Geary has won 8 Daytime Emmy Awards for his role as Luke Spencer.
Tony Geary Tapes Last Scenes
General Hospital news reports reveal that Geary taped his very last scenes on June 22nd, 2015. Inevitably, Lucas Lorenzo Spencer departs Port Charles later this Summer. It was an emotional goodbye over on the GH set, as his friends and cast mates bid him farewell after 37 years in the iconic role. Geary was surrounded by GH castmates and friends, including Finola Hughes (Anna Devane), Leslie Charleson (Monica Quartermaine), Lynn Herring (Lucy Coe), Kristina Wagner (Felicia Jones), Kin Shriner (Scotty Baldwin), and more. Evidently, friend Maurice Benard told Geary, “Not having you here is going to be sad for me.”
According to General Hospital news, Tony Geary revealed that leaving General Hospital is bitter sweet. Although it’s sad to say goodbye, he looks forward to what the future holds for his personal life, and his career. Recently, Geary told Entertainment Weekly, “I’m excited to raise the curtain on act 3, to reinvent myself in my new home to pursue whatever opportunity there may be. It’s an exciting prospect to me. They’ve done a wonderful job of wrapping up the character. So this seems like the ideal time to go.”
Geary leaves GH with words of hope and encouragement for the industry and fans. In regard to the survival of daytime soaps, and the stir up involving the cancellation of One Life to Live and All My Children, Geary tells EW, “It was scary there for two or three years when every thing was being cancelled. The network thought that talk shows should take over because people weren’t going to be interested in soaps. But there has been a resurgence and I think that’s hopeful sign. I don’t believe it’s the end of the medium. Serialization is a great way to tell stories.”
Tony Geary Will Be Missed
Anthony Geary and Luke Spencer will be greatly missed. Geary is an extremely talented actor, and Luke will never be forgotten. We wish him the absolute best in everything that comes his way going forward. It is sad to say goodbye, but there is a warm place in our hearts knowing that he gave so much to the industry for so long. Thank you Tony Geary! We love you!
ABC’s General Hospital always has something to keep us at the edge of our seats. Many times, ABC likes to recap what they have declared the “moment of the day” for the most recent episode. There is no doubt that in yesterday’s thrilling episode of GH, the moment of the say revolved around what Luke and Laura disclosed to Lulu and Dillon.
Luke and Laura were forced to go to extreme measures in order to protect their son, Lucky. The secret has been revealed, the real reason Laura is in town is so that she and Luke can go on an adventure to save their son. Unfortunately, the two have to deceive those around them, especially Tracy, to try and accomplish this rescue.
Will Lulu and Dillon have to watch Tracy grieve with a broken heart over Luke while they know the truth, or will they tell her the truth to ease her tortured heart?
Jonathan Jackson is set to return to General Hospital along with Nathan Parsons, (Ethan Lovett), and Emma Samms (Holly Sutton), for this Summer’s sizzling GH story line.
Genie Francis is one fan favorite among quite a few that have been set up for a return to General Hospital as part of the farewell to Anthony Geary. Laura Spencer is essential to Luke, as they have made history together for decades.
Jonathan Jackson will be returning to GH to reprise his role as Lucky Spencer this Summer, but it will not be for an extended amount of time. The actor is currently on the ABC primetime hit, Nashville, and will be working on episodes for the new season. Nathan Parsons will also be making a return to GH as Ethan Lovett, along with his mother Holly Sutton, played by Emma Samms. These returns are believed to be short lived, and will play a major role in Geary’s exit, as Luke Spencer makes his way out of Port Charles.
Good news is that Genie Francis will be sticking around General Hospital even after Anthony Geary leaves the canvas. General Hospital spoilers have revealed that Laura will be sticking around Port Charles for some unfinished business. Perhaps she will be there to set her son Nikolas straight, or if General Hospital rumors are true, she may have to come to Lulu’s resuce with yet another Cassadine catastrophe.
