GH recaps recall a brief overview of the Jerome family in relation to organized crime. First, Olivia Jerome died in 1990 at the hand of her own brother. And in true soap opera form she resurfaced nearly thirty years later in 2017. That’s when Olivia ordered the car bomb that ended Morgan Corinthos’s life. Ava had a hand in Morgan’s death as well, becoming another enemy of Sonny’s.

Then Julian Jerome fell off of a bridge while fighting with Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard). His body was recovered and he was pronounced dead, but Sonny had gone missing. Presumably, we all know what happened next. First, amnesia. Then Nina. Now here we are in present day Port Charles. Allegedly, Ava isn’t a mobster, and Olivia and Julian are still dead. Moreover, Ava and Sonny have come along way since what she did to Sonny’s son. She and Sonny are on the best terms they’ve ever been since Morgan, and the birth of their daughter, Avery.

General Hospital rumors speculate that Ava and Sonny’s newfound closeness is all a ruse for her plan. Right now Sonny is wary of people he once called his most people. The discussion also touched on the developing bond with his father, Jason Morgan. “At first, I was like, ‘Oh, I’ll probably just be here for a week or a couple of weeks and then [away for] four months,” he confessed.

“And when Steve Burton was coming back as Jason, I was like, ‘Since Danny never really had storyline with him, maybe I’ll come back out here a lot more and be able to do that with him. And then it happened! So that was pretty cool.”

Over the years Dr. Westbourne went from living up to her nickname, “The Britch,” to becoming a much softer version of herself. Eventually, she and her mother repaired their troubled relationship and became very close. Her shocking death rocked Port Charles as Britt died in Liesl’s arms.

Kelly Thiebaud left the soap in early January of 2023. The star’s exit devastated fans in a way that was more hard hitting than many other GH exits. First of all, not only did Britt die, she died in the most heartbreaking way. Additionally, the GH audience watched as her mother held her as she took her last breath. We saw a body. Unlike other exit storylines, Britt’s body didn’t go missing.

This makes it extremely difficult for her character to return. However, it’s difficult but not impossible. After all, this is a Soap Opera. Recently, the actress reached out to fans on the social media platform X. Watros reflected on her journey as Nina Reeves on General Hospital. According to her X post below, she specifically mentioned Sona and Niva. In other words, Sonny and Nina, along with Nina and Ava fans. It looks like the doors have closed on Nina’s relationship with Sonny and her friendship with Ava Jerome. Additionally, Nina has already burned the bridge to her daughter Willow (Katelyn MacMullen), which her children as well. Sadly, Nina’s actions have kept her away from her family in fear that her toxic way would harm them.

Recent GH news reports hint that Cynthia Watros exits General Hospital as Nina after losing both Sonny and Ava. While GH comings and goings have yet to be reported, the actress’s comment has left fans wondering. She stated that she loved her Sona/Niva peeps and that she’s loved every minute of her journey.
