General Hospital reached 1 million Facebook followers
Do you recall what was going on in Port Charles in 2013? Sure, ten years is a long time but we aren’t amateurs. Of course we can remember the happenings of Port Charles from ten years back! Remembering one measly decade is nothing compared to the OG fans. Those General Hospital stans are the true ride or die types who have watched since day one (April 1st, 1963). That’s six decades!
General Hospital Reached 1 Million Followers, Cast ThanksFans
While many of us started watching this iconic Soap Opera before we even had our first kiss, we encourage new, fresh fans every day! It’s nice to be able to grow the fan base, especially geared toward the younger generation. As I recall, I began watching General Hospital in 1992 with my mom and my sister. And throughout my pre-teens and high school years my friends also watched. Sadly, today most of my friends have stopped watching. And let’s be honest, we aren’t friends anymore either lol. Haha but that’s another thing.
Remember when Julian called himself Derek Wells?!
It’s hard to below that 2013 was ten years ago. General Hospital news and spoilers confirm that 10 years ago today, General Hospital reached 1 minion Facebook followers. It’s an impressive milestone for daytime drama. And 10 years later and GH is going strong.
Many refer to the 1990s as General Hospital’s Golden Age. For me, the 90s is when it all began. I was about 10 years old when Ned, aka Eddie Maine sang “Little Sister” to Julia Barrett’s sister, Brenda (Vanessa Marcil).
60 years of General Hospital makes for plenty of an incredible content to debate which era is superior and why. But I honestly don’t think that’s necessary because not everyone began watching during the same time period. No matter your favorite time in Port Charles, the important thing is that we all continue to have new favorite moments for years to come.
Ok, I guess now I’ll list the actors and character names for the above photo. This General Hospital 90s retro gem includes, Wally Kurth (Ned Ashton), Cheryl Richardson (Jenny Eckart), Sean Kanan (AJ Quartermaine), and Crystal Carson (Julia Barrett)! They were exciting times!
What can I say, this has been a tough year for the General Hospital family. But this week has really done a number on fans and the entire industry. Billy Miller was a talented, genuine soul who lit up not just the screen, but the whole room.
As tributes for Billy Miller continue to pour in, Maurice Benard’s outreach contains a powerful message. Ultimately, mental health awareness is a way of life for the three-time Daytime Emmy winner. While many tributes displayed the most genuine love and support, Maurice Benard takes things to a more serious level, and touches on the issue at hand.
Maurice Benard On Billy Miller and Mental Health
Benard’s YouTube series, State of Mind, allows for open dialogue about life and mental health. As a bi-polar disorder sufferer, Miller’s death hit very close to home for General Hospital’s leading man. According to General Hospital news reports, Benard shared an Instagram post that brings awareness to mental health and suicide. Check out his IG post below!
Since the pandemic I have been speaking out on Suicide quite a lot, in the beginning, I was hesitant, I didn’t know how people would handle it. But it’s been very encouraging so I have not stopped talking about it!!! It’s hard to really understand Mental illness unless you have experienced the depths of pain that comes with it. This is a @mbstateofmind i did about two months ago but there’s many. And I promise you there will be many many more to come if you know anyone who is going through any kind of darkness, chaos, pain. Just know, all you can do is give them love, patience, understanding, and hopefully Professional help if they agree. And unfortunately, if someone doesn’t want to be on this earth anymore, there’s only so much we can do just remember, it’s not your fault never blame yourself

if you’re feeling in any kind of way, like life is not worth living for don’t think twice to talk to someone take it from the most fragile person in the world you can get through it. And life has a way of rewarding you.
It starts. The bond between Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and Dex Heller (Evan Hofer) starts now. For Dex, that bond likely already started the night Sonny invited him to sit down for some pasta. That’s when Dex really saw another side of Sonny. Suddenly, things looked differently to Dex ever since he realized that Sonny has a genuine heart.
According to GH recaps, Sonny made a comment to Dex. It was in the heat of their Pikeman conversation when Sonny verbally expressed that he was impressed by Dex. First, he asked for Dex’s input on the Pikeman situation which lead to his impeccable attention to detail. Then, Sonny was pleased at how through Dex’s thought process was. He said, “Damn. Turned you on and you just go.”
It seems to me that Sonny is starting to notice little things about Dex. And sooner than later he begins to realize something. According to GH spoilers, Dex reminds Sonny of Jason. He begins to notice similarities between his new enforcer and his life-long friend.
Previously, General Hospital rumors made claims that Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) is Dex’s father. However, the rumor began gaining more credibility once GH casting rumors claim that Steve could be headed back to General Hospital. How long before Sonny puts the pieces together and figures out that Dex is Jason’s son?
His death came as a shock to so many. Billy Miller was an American actor known for his roles in daytime as General Hospital’s Jake Doe/Jason Morgan/Drew Cain, Billy Abbott on The Young And The Restless, and a Marcus Spector on Suits.
Over the last two days, fans and personal friends alone have flooded social media platforms with heartfelt messages. One in particular that stuck out was written by Kelly Monaco’s mom. Previously, Carmina’s daughter Kelly Monaco and Billy Miller worked side by side as direct co-stars on General Hospital.
Quickly, Kelly and Billy grew closer, and rumors of a relationship ran rampant through the fan base. We all know Drew Cain and Sam McCall as “Dream.” Additionally, fans named Kelly and Billy, “Killy,” what they shipped as a real-life couple.
According to recent GH news, Carmina Monaco speaks out on Billy Miller’s passing. She posted her message on X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter. Expectedly, Twitter holds a huge Billy Miller and Kelly Monaco fan base. First, Billy’s Port Charles arrival gave Jason and Sam fans hope for JaSam 2.0. Then, Millers role went from Jake doe to Jason Morgan, to Drew Cain. All who were romantically involved with Sam. (Kelly Monaco)
Monaco and Miller remain close throughout his GH career. Sadly, many are mourning this devastating loss.
Maybe it’s just me but I find that nostalgia has a way of bringing communities together. Like, when you and a life long friend begin to reminisce about the days of old, and reflect on the good times. In doing so we tend to remember certain people and events that bring a sense of comfort to mind.
For me, the same goes for television and music. Almost all of today’s top 40 pop songs contain music samples from the past. So when you hear this fresh sound with a familiar twist, you kinda feel right at home. Well, that’s how it is for me when my faves from the past return.
I started watching General Hospital in the 1990s like many of you. And I can honestly say that this era seems to have left the most permanent mark on GH fans. That said, do you remember the popular character, Karen Wexler, played by Cari Sheen? She was right there in the middle of heated storylines involving strip clubs, drugs, and Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard).
General Hospital 1992 The Island
It was the age of “The Island,” when Karen, Jason Quartermaine (Steve Burton), and Jagger Cates (Antonio Sabato Jr.) got stranded on an island. Moreover, it was the first jig storyline my pre-teen self really got into. And for that I will always remember and be grateful I beg and watching GH when I did.
Maurice Benard Reveals Upcoming Guest
At a recent fan event in Royal Oak Michigan, Maurice Benard discussed GH, mental illness, and everything in between. A hot topic was definitely his YouTube channel, State of Mind. He uses the platform to interview past and present co-stars, and anyone who wants to share their story.
Dex and Spencer are brothers! …That means that if all the stars align, and Josslyn (Eden McCoy) and Trina (Tabyana Ali) stay with their current boyfriends, then these two besties will someday become sister in laws! The intrigue brought on by Dex’s unknown paternity draws some to dig deeper into his background. Soon, what’s discovered will rock Port Charles and change the course of many lives.
Dex and Spencer Are More Than Frenemies
Josslyn Jacks and her best friend Trina Robinson, each fell for their very own unique bad boy. First, we have Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Alexander Chavez). He is your typical spoiled, rich-kid type. You know, the kind of guy who didn’t get enough attention from his parents and now everything is about him. Despite all of these red flags, he’s handsome, popular, and did we mention rich?
Second, the new guy in town, Dex Heller is the dangerous kind. Seriously, Portia thinks she has to worry about Spencer being a danger? She should imagine how Joss’s mom feels. It’s doubtful that Carly Corinthos finds any comfort in Josslyn following in her footsteps. Dex Heller (Evan Hofer) is the spitting image of the men she goes for in her life.
Evidently, Trina and Joss are both involved with “bad boys” in their own right. And just because their boyfriends are frenemies, doesn’t mean they also don’t have a lot in common. According to the latest GH news and spoilers, a shocking twist exposes Dex’s family tree, linking Joss and Trina’s boyfriends for life! It has been months of speculation about his biological father’s identity. But only one will hold that title.
In a shocking revelation, Dex’s family tree come to light. According to GH rumors and spoilers, Jason Morgan is Dex’s father, abs his mother is none other than Courtney Matthews! Yes, the same Courtney that is Sonny Corinthos’s sister and Spencer Cassadine’s mother!
Dex replaces Jason with Sonny?! Sonny Corinthos is so many things to so many people. His loyalty extends to those who equally practice and display the same loyalty. If you’re in a position to mean something to Sonny and vice versa, then consider yourself lucky.
Evidently, Sonny makes such an impression that even some of his enemies end up as friends and more. One enemy in particular is Dex Heller (Evan Hofer). The junior gangster was born for this position, quite literally. When Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) found Dex, they were both sure they would bring Sonny down. Hence, Dex was once Sonny’s secret enemy. But despite his initial intentions, Dex spills his true feelings.
General Hospital recaps revisit Dex’s confession as he tells Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) what a Sonny now means to him. He explained, “I’ve never had anyone in my life like him. I just feel like he’s taught me so much about what it means to be a man.” Immediately, this scene bright fans to social media platforms with buzz about Dex and Sonny. According to the latest GH rumors, Dex had a deeper reason for wanting coming Port Charles. As it turns out, working for Michael wasn’t just for Michael’s benefit in his quest to destroy his father. Instead, taking the job was a means to an end for Dex.
Dex Replaces Jason with Sonny
Previously, speculation about Dex’s connections pointed straight to Jason Morgan (Steve Burton). Since Maurice Benard revealed that he’s done with Sonny having kids, some fans finally jumped off the. bandwagon that claims Dex is Sonny’s son. However, Jason is another story. Dex just admitted he’s never had a father figure. And just as GH Blog predicted, Dex longed for that connection. Odds are he came to PC to get revenge on the man who (unknowingly) took his father away.
See, GH rumors claim that Dex grew up without a father and it’s possible his mother told him that Jason chose mob life over fatherhood. So he came to PC for answers and revenge. But he never imagined he’d find what he was always looking for. A father figure.
With so many storylines that currently flow through Port Charles, many create potential for what fans have been waiting for. In the midst of all the changes, fans believe it’s the perfect time that Steve Burton returns as Jason Morgan.
Recently, General Hospital Blog shared the latest news in Steve Burton. During a podcast interview, GH co-star Wally Kurth hinted that Steve Burton will be back soon. Since this news broke, GH spoilers are running wild with stories surround Steve Burton and his role as Jason Morgan.
According to the latest GH spoilers and news, Burton shared an interesting post to his Instagram page. Curiously, fans dissect the meaning behind his message. Check it out below!
Does Change Mean Out With DAYS and In With GH?! Steve Burton Retuns as Jason Morgan
With rumors that Steve’s days at DAYS are soon to be over come inevitable change. Last week, GH Blog shared confirmation that Steve Burton has signed a one year contract with DOOL. Of that year leaves about 6 months. That’s why fans have been up in arms over the news. Moreover, each and every storyline seems to have a reason for Jason to return. Sasha needs saving? Jason will rescue her! Sonny needs out of FBI custody? Jason saves the day! Carly needs Nina off her back? Here comes bestie!
Josslyn confronts Dex about Sonny! …Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) is one tough cookie. I mean, how could she not be, she’s Carly‘s (Laura Wright) daughter?! we’re just because the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree does it mean they are destined for the same life.
GH recaps recall that Josslyn Jack has never been too fond of the mob. But in true Carly Corinthos Jr. form, Josslyn embarked on this treacherous love journey with Dex Heller (Evan Hofer). Similarly, Carly found herself in a similar situation all those years ago.
According to the latest General Hospital spoilers Josslyn confronts Dex about Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) yet again. Things have been intense and she’s ready for it to calm down. But little does she know this is just the beginning. soon enough, Josslyn Jacks will be put to the test. Will the upcoming mob war change her and Dex forever?
Unfortunately, the intensity is about to surge in Port Charles. Some argue that Josslyn knew exactly what she was getting into when she fell for Dex. Although, other GH fans think that maybe Josslyn isn’t quite cur out for this. Despite the similarities between Josslyn and her mother, it’s possible she isn’t down for this mob life forever.
